I've got an Accord right now. Just because you are so curious, jaxx.

But i've went too long without something really nice and fast. But my gf keeps talking about SUVs.

Wait a minute what the hell does your girl friend have to do with you buying a vehicle. Thats just wrong. Get what the hell you want.

If you must know, she'll probably get this vehicle soon. Don't worry, jaxx. I'll get what I want. Thanks for your concern though.

For my next car, I was leaning to a hybrid (prius at top of list), but also considering a small Volvo sedan.

Things changed last week when I drove a rented ford focus. Over the course of the week I drove 600+ miles at 34mpg. Aside from being a touch noisy, I was damn impressed with this car. With fuel efficiency at this level, I am no longer interested in hybrids and the bump in price that comes with them.

The focus is now near the top of my list, particularly if there is a leather trim package available.

As long as I have enough acceleration to merge onto highways and such.

Here is what an engineer told me about these cars. He said the expensive repairs out weigh the savings on gas. Me i would rather pay for the repairs then give that money to oil companies. My next car will be a Prius.

If you lease a Prius all repairs and oil changes are free. I haven't had to spend a dime on parts or maintenance. I just fill 'er up w/ regular once every 2-3 weeks... costs me between $35-$45 out here in LA where gas is now around 4.40/gal. I started leasing it purely for financial reasons after weighing a lot of factors, one being the higher cost of living here, and so far I have to say I've made the right decision as the reduced monthly gas costs and zero maintenance pays for the lease practically on its own. Plus you don't have to worry about the depreciation in value that you would with a car that you buy.

The best part is when I drive it down to the oil field (all of my clients are oil companies). That just gets me glares from all the field workers who come down there driving their gas-guzzling Ford pickups, who are probably thinking "wtf is this guy doing out here with that hybrid?" Clearly, I could care less about helping the companies that pay me for contract work.

Honestly though, it is kind of a pussy car for a younger guy to be driving around. I'm not exactly proud of it having owned a Lexus and WRX before, but it does the job and that's all I can really ask for. Performance-wise, it exceeded all of my expectations for a hybrid and actually gets around quite nicely. If anybody has speed concerns with one of these things, all I can say is that I've hit 110 on the way to vegas more than a few times.

That said, I can't wait to get rid of this thing, because I am a car guy and I feel like it compromises my masculinity to a degree. I want something sleeker and with a little more power. I'm looking at one of these next: 335d. No, it's not a hybrid, but that diesel engine will get you 36mpg hwy and solid 265hp. Can't wait till my lease is up!

The only American built car I've ever owned was a 1965 Chevy SS 327/300 awesome fast car, loved it. Then I was in Europe and bought a VW Bug brand spanking new for $1350 and shipped it home for $400.............from there it was used Benz to new Benz to 1975 Jag XJ12 C.......very cool $13,000 new off the floor............then another Jag, and then a amazing 1964 XKE, so freaking cool. Bought for $6000, put a few bucks in it and sold it to Mel Schacter the bass player for Grand Funk Railroad for $30,000. Then Audi, and another Audi, and now my 3rd Benz..............yea I like the foreign cars, they just have something special about them, and they never ever break, unreal quality............ :0008

Audi was crap years ago. I drove one of those 4000s senior year. What a piece. A couple of years ago I drove my father's A8 to san Antonio as a favor to him. Best ride ever. That car was silk.

Yep, those early Audi's had many problems. My last one was am A6 Twim Turbo, great car, my wife had the TT sport with the big engine, great car, and Audi's are all wheel drive so that make it a great car here in Michigan.
