Guys you wouldn't believe what is going on!!!
eek.gif
It is so ridiculous and at the same time not funny at all... You really don't want me to work for a sportsbook don't you?
rolleyes.gif
I'm talking particulary to Stanley here... Your picks have killed us today and Mark is mad at me ! (
mad.gif
wink.gif
) I just got off the phone with him wanting to know why our lines weren't up. He told me he lost more money this weekend than he ever lost in F1 this season and that was enough to boot me from Camelot! I'm back on the other side
tongue.gif

Unfortunately, Mark will stop to offer lines in Cart and F1 for the rest of the season, having the football season who is coming. You can laugh your ass about the situation and i must admit it is like a twilight zone story...

I've been posting my picks here during all season and have lots of followers as Stanley do. Unfortunately for me, Stanley was to hot and all the followers, well, killed me today in a manner of speaking... I can tell you guys that it is hard to beat you!
wink.gif
Having said that, i will still continue to post picks to beat other sportsbooks in racing. (until they decide it is not good for them too... :rolleye
smile.gif

Don't be sorry for me or for Camelot, c'est la vie no? It is just hard to believe!

1837:

I for one welcome u back to this side of the counter.

You are very well respected. Maybe Mark is getting a lot of pressure from above. Who knows? Lord knows one week or one day or 10 lines doesn't constitute long-run.

GL in all regards. Best wishes to u.

You gotta be shitting me, right
eek.gif

Surely the guy got you to set the lines because of an outstanding record ALL SEASON LONG!!!

Now you get beat one weekend - by a 'capper with as much respect as anyone could possibly get here - and he fires yer ass???

How much does that suck??!!
mad.gif

Welcome back to us, friend. We know your true worth.

And adding a note to Chuck - man, you're a damn nice guy!!!

Pops in every now and again to says how much he appreciates the plays, never grumbles about a bad weekend ... believe me CTG, it really is appreciated by the guys who sweat and struggle ove their plays all week.

Just to get a little note of gratitude gives us all a big lift

As you would say CTG - thanks man; catch ya soon

I just wanted to clarify what took place here...Camelot (really it was me personally) reached a decison to no longer offer Formula One or Cart once the Football season began in the U.S. The reason is simple...I did our lines myself and it takes a MASSIVE amount of time and research to put up decent numbers, not to mention the odd hours that the races are generally run for someone located in North America, which requires practice sessions to be watched in an effort to secure decent lines. While I personally enjoy making the racing lines, it takes up a VAST amount of time and the number of clients is remarkably small...and there's no such thing as a "casual" bettor thanks to 1837 and/or Stanley posting "their" picks at this site. So I reached the decision to drop F-1 and Cart once Football got underway, but...

I then found what I thought was a solution by hiring 1837 to set and move the lines for Camelot. He obviously knows his stuff and he's a very personable guy on the phone, so we reached an agreement for him to work for Camelot which would allow me to pass along all racing duties to 1837, except Nascar which I would continue to do. This seemed like a good arrangement until yesterday...when we lost more money than I ever could have dreamed possible in light of our very small limits on the F-1 matchups. Either the lines were bad or you guys KNEW what the "smart" sides were in advance because EVERYONE who frequents this site bet them and won virtually every matchup...we even had new members come in and sign up with us, deposit money, bet the F-1 matchups ONLY and then close their account later in the day. Quite frankly it bordered on the ridiculous and I quickly reached the decision Saturday night that as long as I did not have the time to do the matchups myself, we would temporarily drop F-1 and Cart until I could find someone to make my numbers for me...someone who has no ties to this or any other forum. Once I have secured an F-1 and Cart expert, those matchups and futures will return...and you can enjoy playing 1837's picks...though not as much as you enjoyed betting his lines. (LOL)

Sorry for the temporary inconvenience.

Nobody on this site could knew what was my lean on these bets and it is just bad circumstances and nothing else. I can't accept an attack to my credibity!!!

The problem here is that Stanley is just too damn good and I am sure Mark realises that everyone here (except me damn it ) followed Stan, and does not think you shafted them.
Its a bit of a bummer that Camelot is not having F1 in the future but I am sure we all understand the reasoning.

Very sad.

No matter what Mark says afterward, it is very clear from his first post that he doubts the integrity of both 1837 and myself.

I have never been accused of that before and I don't like it. But I think it is best that we let the matter drop.

Hang in there 1837, you'll get all the support you need at this forum
smile.gif

And I'm sure we'll give Mark's next F-1 "expert" a torrid time. We are good at what we do

Anders:

Thx for the kind words, man.

I know the guys in these forums do their homework, and I just like to show my appreciation for the efforts.

Nobody wins every week, so I think you have to be a little thick-skinned to handle the fluctuations.

See ya down the road, Anders. GL.

Hey I been with you guys from the get go. Yes more with my friend and I am happy to call him my friend 1837. Stanley when I saw you had this gift for F1 two I joined with you on many plays to. This did not just happen this weekend. I been saying for along time when are they going to stop our party. You two have kicked butt all year on F1. And let me say no one gave me any inside dope this weekend to make a killing. I know no one had to give 1837 or Stanly any info and I know Stanley wanted to beat 1837 at his odds and he did. End Of story. Hey guys see my post at general forum. So many guys thing these books are just great guys & buddies. There in business to beat the crap out of us thats it period. We thank them for being sponsers. But It ends right there. It's us vs. them and don't anyone forget that.

DJV,

I understand what you are saying about the "book vs. player" relationship, but that does NOT have to be a nasty or adversarial one...and anyone who bets with me and has spoken with me on the phone can tell you that Camelot is not run that way.

In fact, I am NOT in business to beat customers...I am, in fact, in business to set lines that will draw 50% of the action on one side of an event and 50% of the action on the opposite side of that event and "live off the juice" involved. That's why I believe this "us and against them" thing is both unnecessary and undesirable from both points of view...and I'm certain that 1837 or anyone else on this forum who has spoken to me on the phone can tell you that I live by this statement.

As said above. I said your in business to beat the crap out of us. That would be to win. The 50/50 even up the sides. Most of the last 35 years I have listen to that. Just juiceing as we called it would not get deal done. You can't catch those many even breaks. Those long odd items, parlays and other specials, should help you make the day. Or setting on some could size cash because you believe your number is good. But since you are putting those numbers up. It is us vs you. And I don't think your in busines because you want to be all are good buddies. Hey your in bussiness to kick our butts. And it does not have to be nasty, I agree. Hey odds are on your side. And for type of business your in and the service you provide. Seems right they are. But I do want to kick your butt. I would be afool to think any other way.
