Martin Havlat likely won't return from his groin injury until this weekend, according to the Ottawa Sun.

Radek Bonk still is sore from his injured chest and shoulder and remains day-to-day, according to the Ottawa Sun.

The Predators likely will send Scott Upshall back to his junior team rather than keep him on their roster all season, according to the Tennessean. They want to get him as much playing time as possible.

Shayne Corson remains adamant that he will not waive the no-trade clause in his contract, according to the Toronto Star.

Cgy The Flames placed Roman Turek on the injured list Sunday with a broken finger on his glove hand. Jamie McLennan will start in his absence.

Edm Eric Brewer didn't play Sunday due to a bruised left shoulder, according to the AP. He is considered day-to-day.

Kevin Dineen hinted Sunday that he is close to retiring, according to the AP.

Eric Lindros saw limited ice time Saturday and was benched for most of Sunday's game after taking bad penalties. Lindros said he was still learning how the refs are calling the game this season. Regardless, he was in the box when the Blues scored the winning goal Sunday.

I think the new rule change affects Lindros more than any other F's in the league because of his style of play. Tough to make Lindros change his style of play after what? 20 yrs?? I've got mixed feelings with the new changes, but I'm afraid that just like the changes in the recent years, as soon as the playoffs start, we're still not gonna see much penalties at all after the 2nd period.

GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK!! Thanks for your hard work.:toast:

Michael Peca will not be in the lineup for the Islanders tonight and won't play again until he's truly ready, which will probably be next month.

November 4) On Sunday, GM Mike Milbury told Islanders beat writers, "You don't sit there and watch that performance last night [a 6-1 loss to St. Louis] and expect me to sit there and take that. One of the things I can do as a manager is shuffle the deck and I have every intention of looking at that seriously."

The deck is shuffled. The Islanders have recalled forwards Trent Hunter, Eric Manlow and Mattias Weinhandl from Bridgeport of the AHL. Hunter is 7-6-13 in eight games with the Sound Tigers, Manlow is a team-leading 7-7-14 in 10 games and Weinhandl, even despite a slow start, is 3-8-11 in ten games. Weinhandl, looking to make his NHL debut, is on a six-game points streak, while Hunter has points in all eight games since his assignment from the Islanders to Bridgeport.

Where the newcomers play -- and who they may replace -- has yet to be determined and probably will not be made clear until gametime.

what about DiPietro

former Islander faced down the Avs' high-powered offense Saturday and came away with a tie. "Noodles'" solid 26-save performance featured a second-period shutout of a 15-shot Colorado onslaught. With three games in four nights and Monday's game the first in a back-to-back and Roman Turek out with a broken finger, McLennan could find himself getting a second-straight start. In three previous meetings against the Islanders, his record is 1-2-0 with a 2.01 goals against average.

Flames' power play on the road is truly wretched -- 1-for-22, or 4.5 per cent, the bottom of the NHL.
