The Blues will start Fred Brathwaite in goal tomorrow, but after that they are unsure what they will do with him, according to the St Louis Post-Dispatch. They had planned to put him on waivers with the arrival of Tom Barrasso, but he has played so well recently, they are reconsidering such a move.

The Mighty Ducks recalled J.F. Damphousse yesterday to back up Jean-Sebastien Giguere while Martin Gerber is away from the team, according to the LA Times.

Notes & Quotes: The Rangers sent rookie Jamie Lundmark and forward Rico Fata to Hartford and recalled veteran forwards Dixon Ward and Ted Donato. Lundmark, with just one assist in 14 games, is the only Rangers skater who does not need to clear waivers to be sent down, and coach Bryan Trottier believes that the 21-year-old was starting to spin his wheels ... Bobby Holik (hip flexor strain) skated on his own before practice and will likely miss his fifth straight game tonight

Calgary captain Craig Conroy, who took a shot off the top of his left foot Monday against the Islanders, will be a gametime decision. If the swelling in the foot allows him to put on his skate, he will play.

G Jamie McLennan will start for the Flames again after claiming his first win of the season Monday against the Islanders

NOTEBOOK: Holmstrom joined his teammates for the first time since suffering a bruised sternum Oct. 26 at Nashville. "I felt really good," he said. Depending on how sore he is today, he might rejoin the lineup -- which would be a welcome change. "It was a long week," he said. "I played around with my son, that was the good thing." . . . The Wings have scored 50 percent of their 42 goals on special teams -- 15 on power plays and six shorthanded. . . . McCarty (flu) did not practice

the wings are looking for their 200th all-time home victory tonight vs. the Blackhawks
