Well, things in the world of Bart and Samantha are certainly changing fast. Samantha got laid off Jan 31.....and is still looking as hard as she can for a job. Then, this past Friday rolls around and I get called into the boss's office. All I could think about was.....if you are calling me in here to let me go, you might as well just go ahead and shoot me. That'd just be perfect. Much to my surprise though, it was quite the opposite news. I was offered a promotion.....with a catch of course. Gotta move. So it looks like we're packing up and moving a grand total of two hours to Charlotte, North Carolina. Probably the craziest part of it all is the fact that I start down there in 2 weeks. :scared Looks like I'll be commutiing for about a month or so (they will be paying me mileage). My hopes are that this will help Sam find a job a lot quicker too.

Ok.....back to work.

I was just in your neck of the woods week before last, had appointment in Burlington but came up last minute and had to get to Durham within the hour.

Not to still your thunder, I just got promoted to National Accounts Manager last week :mj06:

Congratulations Bart! What type work does your wife do? I know a few people in Charlotte and might be able to get her a lead, depending on what she does.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys (and gals). I will say that I am excited.....and nervous. It's just a lot to process and get hammered out in a short amount of time. Samantha feels exactly the same as I do. She's very hopeful about going into a much bigger job market, but at the same time, she has a certain comfort level where we currently live. She's familiar with the area.....and isn't with Charlotte. But she's a tough one! She'll be just fine!

Andy.....congrats on your great news (AND SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT LOOKING ME UP) You drove right by me on I-85. I live between Burlington and Durham. But I'm sure you were really busy, being NATIONAL account manager and all. :)

VANurse......Samantha started out as a event planner/coordinator for a consulting firm, and they promoted her to administrator of their online learning program, (before they downsized her). So basically, she's really good with the computer and has good people skills. We're all ears for any leads you may have.

Most of all though, I just wanna say thanks to everyone for the well-wishes. I look at Madjacks like a fraternity....and it's nice when your brothers and sisters care. Best of luck to everyone.

Back to work for now..........(one of us has to keep a job ;) )
