I love Ginobli, he is becoming my favorite player in the league. As for flopping, who doesn't? Shane Battier made himself a lottery pick with four years of flopping. Seems like almost everyone tries to draw the charge. Yao Ming would be the biggest flopper if he wasn't so tall.

I think Horry taught Manuer how to flop, they are all good at it

My problem with him is the same as Nash - cut your damn hair. I am sick of watching 37 shots of each guy every game tucking their damn hair behind their ears because they cant get over their baldness. Imagine how good they would be if they didnt worry about their hair all the time. Heck, Nash could use that extra second or two on each trip to worry about where he should be on defense.

I am sick and tired of watching Amare Staudimire ram his shoulder heading to the basket. That is not allowed in basketball and I do not understand why he constantly gets away with it. TIVO a game and after everytime Amare takes ball to basket he is leading his shoulder into the defender.

Then you have to constantly hear the announcers say this is the future of NBA. I guess playing football on the court is the future.

I think a defender could draw a charge on Amare every time. Not sure why they don't take it more. Horry maybe was setting up Amare all night to wait for that crucial moment to get a key stop.

I also dislike the obvious dramatic flopping of Ginoble. When you tivo after his antics you often see the defender/offensive player not even touch him. That is not basketball and maybe NBA needs RED CARDS or call technical fouls on obvious flopping. I hate flopping period.

I am sick and tired of home teams constantly benefiting from calls. WHY can't refs call fair games? Stop being influenced from the crowd. It is your freaking job. Let the home team feed off there crowd and not benefit from calls.

Tonight the Spurs really got screwed with the Refs. After every play a Spurs player would complain, I rewind back (since i have tivo) and there were MULTIPLE bad calls against Spurs. Suns got screwed couple times (from what I saw on TIVO also) but not nearly as much as Spurs. Whenever I see close plays/fouls I usually rewind. Ticks me off throughout these playoffs how bad the officiating is towards the away team.

2 of Duncans fouls were pretty bogus! Suns never would have been in game if Duncan did not get into foul trouble.

Anybody notice that Duncan is the only Spurs player who gets fouled when attacking the basket? Everyone else on Spurs are not getting ANY calls. Especially Muhammad. HORRIBLE officiating when Muhammad attacks basket. He was without question fouled at least twice (1 of them Amare slapped arm then fell on him knocking him to ground). No calls even though he was hit on ARM and hit to ground with body. Joke.

Oh there is one more thing. Why does Nash get to use his arm constantly to push off of defenders? That should not be allowed. Nash not once has been called for offensive foul pushing off with his arm in this series yet Spurs players repeatedly have been called for offensive fouls that are not related to charging.

I also saw Nash literally wrap up Duncan with his arms 3 times in tonights game preventing Duncan going after ball. What are these refs watching? These are OBVIOUS fouls that anybody can see and these refs are PAID to do there job and do it fairly.

Scott:

The NBA is rife with preferential treatment and has been for as long as I can remember. None of this is anything new. The officiating in this league is an absolute joke. The Suns getting some calls in Games 1 and 2 was expected. I would also expect them to get calls in Game 3 since they are down 2-0 and a close game or Suns win is in Sternys interest.

A real surprise - Scott whining about calls that didnt favor his bet and completely hijacking a thread to be as off topic as possible. I dont recall Mr Objectivity discussing the phantom whistle that helped USC against UCLA or the horseshit intereference call in the VTech game. I am of course certain that it has nothing to do with those bad calls helping him.

went and played hoops during the second half and just watched the game on tape w/o knowing who won ... again, love or hate GINO, spurs would be lost w/o him, HUGE shots late again in a variety of breakdown ways ... didnt see him flopping when he jackniffed the late dagger on twisting layin ...

the long hair deal might be more indigenous of foreign players (nash and gino) who cares they are exciting to watch ...

and scott, I think GINO gets fouled quite a bit so im not sure what UR talking about, and he attax the basket like Norm at Cheers gluttoned his beer and nuts

hats off to the Ginobili--unguardable, despite being hated on now; he made a play that went unsung in first half when nash made brilliant hand tip pass to Q rich and gino hustled down and deflected ball off QRich's shin OB ... saved sure hoop that ended up as usual being huge later

sad to see this series might not go 6/7 ... I still think JJ1 being out cost PHX at least 1 of these games and still great shot of coming home 2-2 ...

anyhow, deet/spurs could be a great Finals

take care

Scott watched a different game than I did, did have the suns so maybe my judgement was skewed. Tim Duncan gets alot of calls, ginobli is out of control 90% of the game, and all the spurs players reach and slap at balls without somehow ever getting anything but all ball. There were three or four times Stoudamire got raked across his forearms and it didn't get called. The Spurs get alot of thoe calls just like the Pistons because of there reputation for playing D.

Of course, the fact that Duncan travels just about every time he gets in the post isnt one of the "fairness" issues Scott is concerned about either.

Bottom line it is the NBA. The refs suck. Certain players get calls that noone else does or should. Some refs have it in for certain players (eg Jake O'Donnel and Clyde Drexler in 1995) and so on. If the rules mattered Michael Jordan wouldnt be much more than Sidney Moncrief and Shaq would foul out in the 3rd quarter every night. All the NBA cares about is the cash.

Stoud has been pampered by refs throughout the playoffs. He constantly pushes off under the glass on both sides of the court. I was pleased to see him get called for a 'T' for shoving Horry last night.

Sure, the Duncans and Shaqs of the league are pampered by refs. These MVP types have earned it. What has Stoud done to "earn" the respect of the refs??? Hell, this is only his 1st playoff appearance.

Well per Scott's thinking noone should earn pampering from the refs. On that point I agree. It is absurd to say a certain player deserves a call because of who he is. The rules should be the same for everyone. It would be real interesting to see who the stars of the game would actually be if palming, traveling, fouls and flopping were all called properly.

I agree that rules should be same for all - but come on! Sidney Moncrief was a good player but comparing him to Michael Jordan is a HUGE stretch.
