Oil, Health Care, Insurance all making huge profits. At who's expenses.
Gas at new average high across the country. When this happen to Jim Carter he was called every name in the book. I don't know why folks seem want to give bush a pass. Bush is more in bed with oil then Carter ever was.
Interest rates going up won't help either. Inflation is about to eat that little tax cut we all got up. Somehow our government just cant get it. You don't run big deficits if you want low inflation.
You can't hand out tax cuts then over spend. Nothing get's done and the Conservatives have had control over 6 years. They fight with each other almost as much as they do the liberals. Our government always seems to work the best when one party has the presidency and the other has control of congress.
They spend all that money to make us safer. And were not.
But gas and health care are just a joke. And it's on us.

Gas up here another 18 cents in less then two weeks. Now $2.26 and were lucky compared to others. Who they kidding. The boats with the higher priced oil per barrel has not even come a shore yet.
Won't take long to tank the economy. Unless the banks keep extending credit card debt. That will help for a while till more folks go bankrupt because of that credit card debt. Dam I see close to a trillion dollars Americans cant even come close to paying off each month. So they get stuck with higher and higher interest rates.

Wait until the mortgage intrest rate bubble pops. We will then have millions of people who will be upside down on their mortgages. They will owe more than the house is worth.

How does it look like an opportunity to you Dawgs? What do you believe in buy high and sell low?

Dogs admit it your boy in the White House ain't doing much to keep gas prices down. Don't try to blame the rise in price on taxes.

Considering price of oil is at all time high I am quite happy with cost of gas--now about what pres is doing on cost of gas---if you been reading any news you would know past days decline in price of oil due mostly to increased reserves of U.S. Now remeber how Kerry advocated using reserves to lower gas prices--great short term but where do you think prices would be today with Mid east holding us by the balls with depleted reserves.

"Crude oil prices fell below $55 per barrel earlier but settled above that level after reaching a record nominal high last week, as US stockpiles data showed a rise in crude reserves. "

I agree we should not dip into the reserve especially now. I don't know how much affect that had in the price. I would guess not much since all that happened was that the price backed off from a record high.

I also said we don't need to use any of that. But we could stop adding and use that for now. The reserves are over 87% full. We cant wait to finish that later. Price of gas is nuts to inflation overall. And when in same state with same tax code prices close to the I system are 13 to 20 cents higher. Well someone is screwing someone. Of course if folks are strange enough to give it to them. But of course those traveling the I system don't know some times by just going 2/3 miles it's much cheaper.

I didn't like the Dems push to tap the reserves last year (or year before?). They were obviously being partisan and trying to get cheap gas lovers on their side.

I don't blame Bush at all for gas prices. I blame him for encouring so much waste and inefficiency by being so lax about alternate energy and mileage standards though. Even tax breaks for SUV's???
What was that all about?

Reserves are for EMERGENCY - not price control. If for some reason all of our oil importation was halted and we had to use the reserves, we'd feel pretty stupid if there was less available because we just wanted it cheaper before.

On a side note - I'm really happy So. Cal. adopted tougher emission standards when they did. It's worth the slightly higher prices. It's official, LA's air pollution is now at an ALL TIME low since they began measuring it. EVERYONE is better for it. The environment is worth the investment.
