I haven't cracked a back one but my front teeth are all crowned. Maybe you can get a crown or inlay. I would certainly try to fix it if it were me. I enjoy chewing my food.

Yep "Root Canal Specialists" all kinds of fancy equipt and movies while it was being done.
What pissed me off was she said "keep the tooth as long as you can" WTF!
Jack and the rest have mostly covered it.
The question is whether or not the tooth is restorable, ie, is there enogh tooth left to hold a crown. Also, will a root canal be needed?

3. extraction/nothing
4. extraction/implant
Only way to see is get an xray and go from there. Good luck.
