Is there any reason not to pound Purdue?

I don't know about the rest of you guys but I think that Walter is the Sun Devils, if he is not playing then Purdue looks to good to be true.

Also the PAC-10 has not showed up for a game yet..........So Here is my take

Purdue-7 for 5 units.

Thoughts?

Played Purdue right when the lines came out. Yes they lost Walter, but I feel that they lost their defensive coordinator (took HC job at Utah State) and that Ricardo Stewart is also out is a killer defensively and could hurt just as bad.

Personally I think that Purdue puts up big numbers tommorrow.

Best of luck if you chose to play it.

I hear you fellas.

Got a Small play on Purdue-7 and Over 55, was just looking to help the cause so to speak with a nice pull on the Boilermakers. gonna raise the bar from one unit to five.

Oh and that Oklahoma game is looking even sweeter..........The PAC-10 so far has laid an egg in my book and I am not just saying that because I am a Tiger. I fully expect The Hokies to break it off in us in the Sugar Bowl.

As for any of the other games tommorow.

I played
Bama-2 (5*)
Louisville -11 (1*)
Over 81 (1*)
Florida+4 (1*)

ASU fan here who has watched every game. Do I think Purdue will cover, prob. The loss of Walter, H. Hill, and Stewart is a lot to overcome against a good Purdue squad. H. Hill is our starting RB who got kicked of the team a couple days ago. While our running game is not very good, the loss of Hill hurts. He runs hard and now we have ZERO depth. We're starting one of our recievers (Burgess) at RB and one of our LB's is our #2 RB. UHHHHHH. Our two best RB's were lost in week 4 (Wade, whose awesome, got in trouble and Randy Hill blew is knee out) so now have nothing. Riccardo Stewart is the heart and soul of our defense but we are used to playing without him as he is hurt often. Our backup QB, Sam Keller, is solid. He showed great poise and ability against UofA when he came in late in the 4th quarter (down 14 pts) and almost led us to victory (dropped pass away from OT). Burgess is good as well as he ran for 150+ yards agianst Stanford in his only start. They are both sleepers..... Don't worry, the loss of defensive coordinator, Brent Guy, is def not a distraction. He is awful. How he got a head coaching job in div 1A fball is beyond me. He nearly got fired last year but Koetter saved his a@@ and forced him to change is defensive scheme. All in all, I owuld play Purdue -7 becasue our leaders on both sides of the ball are out to go along with the fact Koetter is piss poor on the road and in big games- VERY AWFUL. I hope the devil's pull it out but they have a lot to overcome. GO DEVILS!!

You too. I'm stayin away from this one as it's my team and I don't know much about Purdue. I'm assuming your an Auburn fan???? Ever since the bowl spreads came out, one game has stuck out at me: IOWA +7. I think LSU giving up that much to a very good Iowa team is odd. With the whole Saban debacle, it almost looks too good to be true. What do you think???????

Agree with the write-ups. Have followed ASU all year and am in doubt on how they will do in the game tomm. I think they either win outright or pretty much get handled from the start, like vs USC and Cal. I think Keller is important but I dont think that will end up being a key to the game for the devisl. Unlike how they started the game vs Cal and USC they will HAVE to establish a running game - especially early to have a chance. Wade was very strong but there guy tomm Rudy Burgess can also be very dangerous. I agree that Orton will want to impress in his last collegiate game. Although Stewart is out for the devils d they do have many other leaders (Dale Robinson, Justin Burks) who could lead them - its just a matter of if they come with the intensity they showed earlier in the year. I do look for Koetter to finally have his team ready to play tomm after going 0-3 in their 3 biggest games this yr. Go Devils - am going to sleep on it and decide about the play tomm.

Agree Sanks. We both know that ASU can DEF win this game. However, Koetter is absolutley useless in big games as well as road games. Keller and Burgess are very capable of having big games as they have proved it this season (Rudy vs. Stanford, Keller vs. UofPew). I'm not bettin the game but I would lean towards Purdue mainly for the lack of preparation in big games + the injuries. GL and GO DEVILS!!!

I am hoping that Koetter just doesnt do the regular run up the middle with Rudy - if they can do some screens and get him to the outside he can be very dangerous. Miller needs to be involved from the start to be succesful. Im hoping the corners just play half decent and give us a chance to pull one out in the 2nd half. Good luck to anyone who bets on this one!

I'm surprised we don'r run that TE screen that we used to run when Pinkard was at TE a couple years ago. They should start doing that agian as we all know how awesome Miller is! I really hope we pull this out. It won't make up for the UofPew debacle but it would be graet nontheless

I am taking ASU - BIG!! I think that they show up here. Purdue looks like they should win this one, but bowl games are funny sometimes. Look at Tex Tech tonight. Did anyone think they were going to pound Cal? I have nothing to really go by with this pick, it is just a feeling I have. I think ASU wins outright. Good luck anyway.

o.k.,g....i`ll bite.....

what would make az st a logical play here?

....or rather,purdue an illogical play?

purdue leads in every statistical category....despite losing their triggerman for several games......

az st is missing multiple weapons on offense....and their best secondary guy on defense...

it`s orton`s last college game....

the more complete offense...the better statistical defense....

the only rub could be koetter over tiller...and koetter`s proven to be human...

i know it`s been "don`t make sense" and "dog heaven" in the bowls....

but, what "logical" reasons would lead you away from purdue.....

the mental?....just being an underdog?...because i believe that purdue is pretty happy to be in a bowl...

seriously.....maybe because it`s way to obvious...that`s what is keeping me away....

if anybody really likes purdue, they could hedge on the moneyline....seems like most dogs aren`t just covering the spread...they are winning outright... ....

thanks

weasel:

this is truly one of those games were im not confident in the chalk covering, but not sure if the dog has enough to win outright. theres no doubt purdue is the better team, but this sun bowl is another weird bowl. chalks and ranked teams have not fared well in el paso recently. it seems the favorite always has enough 'just to get by'. for some inexplicable reason, i can see purdue dominating the game but not the scoreboard. why that is, i dont know. guess its just a gut feeling. im not going anywhere near this one. i think purdue wins. but cant see hitting either side in this one hard, considering both teams took a late season nosedive.
