Its been a ride..." there is a place for us" "color my world", 44 yrs married

Not sure where to start...just read my wife's text to all our kids and me as i went out to buy some flowers for our 44th anniversary...but she texted its our 45th not 44th..oops my bad..will type her text that I just read...

from her cell phone to all my kids and me..

Judy sang " there's a place for us " from West side story at our wedding. We danced to " color my world" by Chicago at our reception. We went on our honeymoon and drove to California with mike and marianne. { we doubled on our honeymoon, unreal} We bought out 1st house a year later, and our 1st child was born 3 years later. Since we met in 1971 at North Texas,we have seen the Vietnam War end and had hoped it was the last.

2nd texted
today we celebrate 45 years . Four kids and four and half grandchildren .It has been a ride... Happy Anniversary tony [box]..
wow 45 years..."it has been a ride ".. a great one ...and to be married to me ...she forgot that before we got married she had to name the starting 5 on the NY Knicks.. The movie Diner influenced me when a character in the movie had to pass a Baltimore Colts quiz to get married.. stole the idea from that scene ..well this morning after coming back from the store with the flowers and reading her text I asked her the starting 5 of the NY Knicks championship team. she said " Walt Frazier,Bill Bradley,Dave Debuchere ,Willis Reed and stopped and paused..Earl Monroe and your favorite Dick Barnett.. damn ... she asked me if I could name the characters on the TV soap " All my children". that she watched back then.. All I could remember was Erica Kane, Susan Lucci ..forgot all the rest that she made me memorize to combat my test I failed big time this morning and she passed with flying colors..
will have a cookout outside with my daughter and son and there families staying more then 6 feet apart. Texas c-19 is spiking bad here..they opened everything up and now are paying the price.. we have the Sahara desert wind coming from Africa in our skies.. over Texas never heard of that.. I know we never heard of that in NY.. I know we got artic winds for canada but sahara winds from Africa ..
hope everyone has a nice weekend. I am going to google "all my children : from the 1970's and look up some characters on that show..
take care, everyone stay healthy and glad Betone is getting better... peace
Damn..she even got Bill Bradley...

Congrats Box

You kind of set the bar high with your posts but somehow you keep posting better and better stuff. It makes me glad that all I have to do to clear my bar is post something that does not include a naked guy with boobs. I guess we are both Champions.

I'm looking forward to meeting up, albeit safely. We are trending towards canceling our July trip as we don't want to get stuck somewhere in a quarantine situation.

I want you to know that this Sahara dust is rare for us in Texas. I can only remember one other time in my 44 years here. Now the South American smoke from the burned marijuana fieldd happens more frequently.

Happy Anniversary and I hope the next 44 are just as great.

Joshnaudi...we will hook up soon.. in 1969 I didn't need the South American wind coming north to Denton..what ever was in Denton stayed there until 1974...thank god I graduated and left for NY...got a haircut and became a teacher, basketball coach, athletic director and eventually a HS Principal...lol
I am amazed at this Sahara wind...its still here... just hovering around the sky...not sure if I told this story already..when I was dating my girlfriend my junior year I needed to borrow her car at her dorm.. it was around 2-3 in the afternoon.. the entire sky was red..she had a 1970 cutless supreme 2 door..it was a v-8 and for the 1st time in my life I drove a car other then my 1966 VW bug. talk about power... but the car had red sand all over it... it was a west Texas dust storm hitting North Texas... the entire sky was red... I was like a 5 yr old in the candy store window just looking up. now just maybe some of that South American wind got mixed up in it and it was really not as red as I thought,

lets hook up one of these days doglover lives pretty close to me... off mopac
