I don't think all that many coaches would have chosen to go for the 2 point conversion in the third quarter when down by 5. It was obvious that thee would be more points scored; Saints only 40% this year on 2 point conversions; 49'ers were shutting down running game in most instances save the big runs. Having a wager on the Saints, I WAS happy that Mariucci did think like a coach when he realized that he had to allow the touchdown if he wanted any chance to go to overtime. Amazes me that more coaches don't realize when down by 1, that rather than let the opponent run out the clock, let them score so you have a chance to tie. Thanks, Coach Steve!
