Today was exactly why some of the guys on this board are simply the BEST. I have my daughter on a flight from Tampa to Nashville this morning and then a shuttle from Nashville up to her Bowling Greewn, KY dorm at Western Kentucky University, after spending Thanksgiving at my Mom's in Sarasota.
Hannah gets to her dorm at 9 this morning and they are closed (early flight). She is freaking out, outside with her 2 suitcases (one she had her clothes in, the other with new clothes from the family for Christmas that she got Black Friday shopping). She is let in to the lobby but not allowed to her room because of renovations, and is told she cannot stay.
Well, I call Nick (Joker) and he is in Knoxville, but says he will call Clint (sixfive) and see where he is, since he needed to talk about something else. Clint is more than helpful to drive over to Campus and pick her up and take her to Jokers empty house. Clint also offers her the option to eat with his family but she declined to not intrude too much. Nick is extra gracious to give Hannah his house code to get in and stay until the dorms open. I had lunch with Hannah and both these guys last spring just to introduce in case ANY situation may arise that adult help is needed since I am 5-6 hours away in Atlanta.
Well, when your 18 year old Freshman daughter is stranded in 30 degree weather and you are in Florida, the situation calls for help, and both these guys came through. How can I repay that, ladies and gentlemen???
Amazing and gracious and thoughtful gestures by two of the "Good Guys" on Thanksgiving Weekend. I am forever indebted for taking care of my girl in time of need. Thank you gentlemen for all your help. I thought I'd share with our Community. :toast:
