There is no law you have to be respectful to law enforcement. Lack of respect does not entitle anyone to rough up any human like that.
You are right. There is no law but, if she was respectful, I'll bet she would have not been beaten up. My Parents taught me from as early as I can remember to be respectful of all authority. I guess hers didn't. Police officers with this type of temperament should not be police officers. Think about all the ass holes police come in contact with. Do you want to be the one to set off a guy with a short fuse, having a bad day ? There is no law about respect, but it's the right thing to do for many reasons includung self preservation. All police are not bad, there are many great ones. For every story that you hear like this, there are countless the other way. Disclaimer : My Mother has been married to a cop for 30 yrs... Great guy !!! I know many Cops, there just like every other segment of the population... There is good & bad....

Weasel,

FAIL.

louddog,

FAIL.

There is no excuse or justification for this.... If this were my daughter, I would be in jail for shooting this bastard...or very wealthy from filing suit against the city. You pick.

You speak of "lack of respect for authority," yet if this were a teacher discipling a student, you would be outraged.

You made the following comment:

"maybe i`m from a different world or generation....if my father had observed me acting that way toward a police officer,or an adult, the beatdown would have made that little scuffle seem like a pillowfight...and if it had been my kids acting like that,it would have been a mistake they would have learned from...let me leave it at that...

i think there is a problem with children today...let me correct that...with some parents today...they don`t teach their children the proper respect for adults...they overindulge them....and nothing their kids do is ever seen bas being incorrect or wrong...

many parents are so busy being buddies, that they forget how to be parents and what it entails...

you see it every day in supermarkets, movie theatres,in schools or walking down the street...

again....the police officer will pay for losing his temper...probably with his job...a career down the tubes because he lost his temper after being baited by some spoiled little asshole who decided to borrow(steal)her parents` car (guess we`re just lucky she didn`t kill somebody while out joyriding)...

as it stands,a man`s career wil be ruined, and this little twerp will probably make a lot of money for behaving like a juvenile delinquent....

one can HOPE she learns from this episode...but,what does she learn?...certainly not that bad behavior has consequences....actually,in this case it probably pays off handsomely...

but,i guess we can HOPE.....of course you can HOPE in one hand and shit in the other...and guess which one fills up faster?...."

Maybe, just maybe, the fawking skin head cop had a bad upbringing that "learned" him how to behave in that manner? Maybe HE didn't get enough "love" from his fawking parents?

Maybe he has a "napoleon" complex, as many idiot cops have that makes him think that this kind of thing is justifiable, as you do....

HIS fawking "career" is ruined?!?!? Fawk him!!! What career??? He is more of a criminal than the "child" he beat down.... If that's the measure of his restraint, then maybe he'd be better suited behind bars with those that are more like him....

I had a very good friend in law school that was a Captain in the mtro police dept in nashville during law school.... His comment about police officers in general always stuck with me....

"The kind of personality that's attracted to joining the force is exactly the opposite type of personality that is needed in the profession."

This bully with a small cock and a general lack of self esteem thinks that because he has a badge and a uniform gives him the right to commit crimes that the general public would be charged and beratred for.... I've yet to meet a cop that shouldn't have to undergo anger management classes, not that they would sink through their thick skulls.

I've handled quite a few domestic violence cases that involved cops beating their wives and children.... Is this an abberation or just coincidence? I doubt it. These assholes are programmed to be bullies from childhood.... They seek the "protection" of a badge and a uniform to hide behind their insecurities and to take refuge behind them when their small mind let their emotions overwhelm their common sense, of which they have very little.

Having an inferiority complex and a badge does not give you the right to violate the law. Ever seen a cop speeding without his lights on? They all think that they are above the law because they "enforce it." Apparently it doesn't apply to them.

For all I care, every cop on the planet can rot in hell and I hope they all get the payback that's know as karma. Fuk 'em all!

I'll leave you with the thoughts of my old man....

"You can take the best man in the world...put a gun and a badge on him and give hime 6 months and he'll be the sorriest son of a bitch you've ever met."

:SIB

this is bull shit..you are right, there is no excuse or justification for what happened to this young woman.... After that your thoughs are irrational. Your last sentence is flat out stupid...

not a cop but the teenager by legal defintion assulted the cop twice from the video I saw. First the shoe does hit him from the video link below at :28 seconds..but she states on that show it didn't hit him. Then when he comes in quick she put her hands up to his face, to me looks like a shove or hit at :30 seconds

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE1kxAsaGwk

If I'm on the jury I say any type of violence against a police officer justifies a resonable beating. The whole thing lasted 12 seconds. Seriously didn't look excessive to me. And I would find him not guilty.

are you serious ?

I don't like the rationalization that all cops have the small dick/Napoleon complex. Most of them are good, but when we have a jackass like this, it really taints their profession (compare to child molesting catholic priests).

This jackass probably beats his wife/girlfriend too. I think this is obvious assault and purely unjustified. "Sticks and stones..." He's just stupid enough to have made this girl and her family quite a lot wealthier I'm sure assuming there is some organization here to sue.

Lastly, I've not been in many fights in my life, but I'm pretty sure if I slammed a 15 year old girl against a wall with my full weight, threw her on the ground with my full force, sucker punched her twice to the head while on top of her, and layed on her 30 more seconds while she was cuffed, she wouldn't have been able to walk out of the cell. I'm sure a real man would beat the chit out of this girl-beater.

I am surprised I ddint see the black gloves on this cop.

I think this comes from his street mentality. He probably was not in the jail much.

On the street when someone assaults you ( by kicking the shoe ) thats when a cop feels like he has the greenlight to take matter into his own hands.

In Georgia he would be shit out of luck to sue anyone though.

teenager may not mouth off to cops again for the rest of her life. And thats a good thing.

he should be off the force. no anger management abilty pretty much assures this would happen again at some point.

first she kicks a shoe at the cop, which is an assult on an officer. So now he can use force until she is in cuffs.

Then when the cop comes into the cell she puts her hands up and it looks to me like she does throw a punch. You throw a punch at an officer and the rest is justified.

how about when she tried to strangle his fingers with her hair or trying to brake his hand moving her head in front of those blows

glad you brought a sober, unbiased legal perspective to the discussion,taoist....lol

did the thought ever occur in that sharp legal mind of yours that people in this profession may not start out as "skinheaded child beaters"?....that maybe the cumulative stress involved in the daily duties of such a dangerous profession may cause some to occasionally overreact in certain situations?....after all, they are human..

did that thought ever occur to you, legal genius?..you,the dapper, dignified and impeccably dressed lawyer....in your very expensive navy blue pinstriped business suit, imported silk tie, gleaming cuff links, white shirt, polished black shoes, hundred dollar haircut and $1500 briefcase?....

oh?...maybe you`re just a student?...if that`s the case, maybe until you acquire all those chi-chi accoutrements, you can take a trip down to reagan national airport or dulles and jeer our troops coming home from iraq or afghanistan....they`re authority figures,too..probably enlisted just so they could harrass and murder innocent iraqis and afghanis...:thumb:

sooo, now we have a "lawyer":SIB basically insinuating(no,more like stating unequinocally) that the entire law enforcement profession is populated by knuckle dragging thugs...so,given that "fact",i suggest that you stay true to your convictions,taoist...maybe next time you get in a jam,you should call your local "community organizer"......after all, cops should "all rot in hell".....why would anyone in their right mind call these jack-booted neanderthals in a pinch?

lawyers..practicing law that have a built in bias against the very people that protect society?...it`s not racism, but it`s certainly bias...and that`s scary...

maybe YOU`RE in the wrong profession?...

just goes to show you what a profound difference there can be between being "extensively schooled" and "highly educated"....

btw...spongy...very cowardly of you to start a volatile thread and then run and hide until it became clear that it was one guy disagreeing with the majority...

but, then again, that`s always been your modus operandi, hasn`t it?...

you brought me back in...i was called a racist in this thread already because the girl was black...of course,i wasn`t aware of that...as many others weren`t....but that`s o.k....i let it slide...

i don`t take it personally...

This girl strikes me as typical of young people today. No respect for authority and think they can mouth off and do whatever they want under any circumstance. I'm pretty sure if you're going to act this disrespectfully while in custody, you're much worse outside thereof. She seems like the typical type who SHOULD HAVE had the crap beaten out of her by her parents from a young age on and learned some manners...

That being said...

This was clearly and unequivocally brutal and unnecessary force. What a prick this cop is. He's an adult and he's PAID to be a professional. If you can't handle the stress of the job, get the fawk out. If he's willing to do this to a 15 year old girl with very minor provocation, what does he do to everyone else? I believe I heard on the news that he had had prior complaints involving excessive force. What a surprise. The best way you can deal with cops is simply to have no dealings with them. By their very nature, they tend to be overly aggressive and none too intelligent. Combine those qualities with a badge and you have a real problem.

Ur insane u know that? What in the world can i do for u here? U dug this ditch so deep im having trouble seeing u. Sorry if u think i am hiding but this post was at another joint and i commented on it a few times. My comments were that this asshole should have his nuts cut off and his pussy partner should be fired for watching it. I won't paint all cops with the same brush but this shit goes on a lot and it is pushed right under the rug. As for kids are different i agree. When u have guys in this country that are middle class but vote to destroy the middle class this is why kids are like this today. When u are brainwashed into thinking unions are bad (unions which created the middle class and competitive wages as well as health care from employees) and these lopsided, one sided trade deals are good, what this does is destroy the manufacturing segment of our country. Now what it also does is create broken homes because now two people have to work instead of one. The temptation is now great for cheating on ur wife or husband, when it use to be one parent worked and one raised the family. In my day i got my ass whooped if i wasn't home for dinner unlike today's families who don't even have dinner together. Again the result of politicians who u happily vote for who always strive to kill the middle class and the manufacturing jobs in this country. I remember the days when i use to get up at seven and hurry to the ball field and play ball for hours. We would play till u couldn't even see the ball and just stopping to go home and eat dinner. Now u can have any empty ballfield u wan't. This again because of monkey's like u, trying to kill the middle class of this country or bad mouthing unions like a good neocon puppet. Your votes create kids like this. Killing unions, moving companies overseas to suppress wages for greed and that ole mighty dollar, by breaking the back of the American worker and the American family will create kids like this. It will create lots of them. Ur vote is a product of these kids. U need to take some of the responsibility along with some of these other neo-con puppets.

i don`t disagree with kelly...basically what i`ve been saying.....i`ve read that the cop had 2 prior "indisgressions",so that will be considered when he is dealt with....

but,i`m more than shocked that our resident lawyer doesn`t believe in "due process" when it comes to cops.......this is why the thought occurred that maybe taoist would be better suited in some other profession...maybe, as the leader of a group of "angry villagers" (and we have `em here...lol) replete with torches and pitchforks...

apparently, trial by "viralvideo" is sufficient for some attorneys....

Well, as another of the resident attorneys here, I guarantee you he'll get more than his due process. It is exceedingly difficult to fire bad cops, unless it's basically caught on tape (as it was here) and there is an uproar.

It's just sickening from a moral perspective. I could understand it better if it were a guy who posed a serious threat of bodily injury. You get a little pissed and throw in an extra punch or two. I can understand that (not that it's right), but not picking on a small 15 year old girl, regardless of how tempermental she's acting.

I think Weasel is getting a bit too much heat here. I think we are of the opinion that this spoiled little bitch had an ass kicking coming her way....it just shouldn't have been executed.

Agreed..... It's surprising that so many are taking the girls side and are so "anti-cop".

I'm not saying the "beat down" was OK - I AM NOT SAYING THAT. But I'm shocked at people's view of the cops.

It makes me wonder about the population here at MJ's.... This type of issues don't worry me personally, as I've never had any confrontations with police in my life. And I can't say that any of my friends have either.

Beat downs by the police are only possible for those of the population that put themselves in that position. AND, if you are arrested, if you keep your mouth shut and do as your told, I kinda doubt you'll get beat up. But what do I know? I've never been arrested.

Maybe me and my friends are in the minority by not being hauled to jail by the police, I don't know. For our country's sake, I'd like to think that we are the vast majority.

It would be interesting to do a poll here at MJ's and see how many "criminals" are in our midst. I would doubt that we'd get honest responses though. How many criminals are honest?

Like the old sayin' goes, "Where there is smoke, there is fire". The girl in no way deserved a beatdown, but let's be honest - she WAS arrested, so that would lead me to believe that she probably wasn't an angel to begin with.

JMHO.

That part in bold is just a dumb comment.

People get arrested for the dumbest shit sometimes. So if some gets hauled in for a warrant for unpaid parking tickets, would you make that same comment...they WERE arrested so you jump to you conclusions...

I was arrested in college for pissing in a public alley that a cop walked by...bad timing...what does that tell you about me....I was arrested...so I guess that means you right me off as a criminal based off that right?

If I got lippy I shouldnt have to worry about getting a beat down & possible killed by the thug scumbag cop should I?

Some more on this punk ass cop:

~Several years ago, Schene shot and killed an unarmed, mentally disturbed man following a traffic stop that degenerated into a ?knock-down, drag-out? fight.
The shooting was ruled ?justifiable.?

~Shortly after that incident, he was stopped for driving under the influence. He was given a deferred sentence and placed on probation

It's not about picking a side. I have no doubt she is a mouthy little wench. However, in a civilized society you cannot have armed little tyrants abusing the powers granted them. The bigger issue is that if they'll do that to her, what do they do to everyone else? Are you next?

Personally, I've never even been arrested. I have, however, had many speeding tickets. The vast majority of cops I've ever dealt with are Napoleonic little pricks. Oh, you're so tough with your little mustache and badge. OK. However, I am into self-preservation and realize that causing any issues with them would only hurt myself and cost me money. That being said, oversight on those who run around wielding their little sticks and authority is important. I think we all know they get away with a lot of abuse and coverups. I'm sure there are a few good apples, but most aren't worth the paper they write you your ticket on.
