Ford might seem like a bargain because of the low price, but that company is done for...just a matter of time.

If not for big oil, the once strong credit branch, and special lobbies, they and GM would have failed long ago. American car companies just don't get it. They try to force things on the customer rather than respond to them.

DTB, you must have PM if you were involved in the spinoff. I'm looking at them as an out performer of MO? Any thoughts?

Morris I bought it in Sept this year-day before div exdate--thought would be good defensive stock--also thought might be getting near bottom of market--wrong there- but it has not dropped that much. Small position so will hold long term with stop loss.

:)

PFE = Pfizer
MMM = 3M (tricky, eh?)

Ford is the only one that I have a limit sale order on already. I do think they are fundamentally done for.

And when I said, "I can not shut out the noise", I meant to type, "I can NOW shut out the noise".

It feels surprisingly good to have that off my brain.

I took all cash and put it into the market today. All orders just completed.

:00hour

Dawg, I would seriously consider taking this one-day gift and cashing in. Market will be probably be choppy. You can always buy at another dip.

My biggest positions are in MSFT (averaged down now to about $23.50) and AAPL ($94.10).

PFE ($15.50)
DIS ($23.00)
MMM ($53.00)
and a small position in F ($2.10)

Sorry for the lack of updates. I just finished up one of the crazier weeks of my life.

Sold

PFE - 17.28 (11.5%)
DIS - 26.02 (13.1%)
MMM - 59.78 (12.8%)

Still own:
MSFT - have limit sell order at 25.15
AAPL - have limit sell order at 105.00
F - have limit sell order at 2.75

I'm pretty confident that I would have made a whole lot of money if I was in the office this week in front of a computer. I'm not complaining about the gains that were had due to the limit sell prices hit, but it could have been a beauty of a week, for sure!

My business partner has been absolutely killing it since mid last week playing SPY and SDS back and forth.

Oh if I would have been here to take this advice. You are dead on what needs to be done in this market. Buy, sell on any upswing, then get back in.

Make sure that you are getting in at prices you are comfortable owning your stocks for the long term just in case we don't see any little pops due to further dropping.

Good luck everyone. Keep your wits about you.

Nice work, vinnie!

Hopefully, I will be able to make up some of the missed winnings next week!

Then I'll be in Seattle for the next week, so I'll miss another opportunity!

Ok. So I said screw it on the limit sell orders.

Sold Ford on Thursday at $2.09 and AAPL at $97ish (I'll update this number when I get back to office computer. I can't log in right now because I don't have my password generator.) I sold the Ford for a small loss when you include commissions. The AAPL shares were for a ~$3 gain. Nothing to write home about.

So I currently own MSFT in lots of 100 shares at ~$23.20 (this includes the two sets of covered calls I have played since owning and the puts i sold against them to enter).

I sold more $20 Nov Puts at $1.35. Today I sold covered calls against my shares at Nov $24.

Basically, my entire account is based around MSFT right now. kurby

With my puts, I am saying that I will buy more if you let me at $18.65. With the covered calls, I am saying that I will sell the shares I own for $24.90.

All of the options expire on November 21.

I wasn't able to be active this week, and I will be in Seattle all of next week... then Knoxville and Myrtle Beach the following. Do work trips always travel in packs like this???
