Marketing genius. This is a business and people are going to be talking about Kayne and Beyonce more than Beck, in small part to these antics.
And who cares? If I enjoy an album or musician I honestly couldn't care less if they sell 1000 albums and go completely unnoticed or sell 1 million and win a grammy.

I'm in it for the music; it's not like I am playing "fantasy music business" with Kayne drafted as my number 1 artist.
