On TV and in the newspapers, it looked as though the only white folks there were the National Guardsmen frisking the citizenry.

i heard other definitions of black irish too - being part spanish because of some fleet that shipwrecked in n. ireland, so all the repressed irish women got some latin lovin. also something about black meaning more heavily armored when fighting somebody over something some time ago.
