I don't care to play the ponies EVERY day. TO ME, that could be habit forming and it ain't a good one. I planned on taking a break starting WEdnesday as usual (Philly doesn't run on WEDS) and resume on Monday and Tues and maybe Fri. if the card and conditions look real good. BUT, they are running today, I'm on a bit of a roll, I got the time today, AND (mostly, believe it or not) - the WEATHER forcast, track conditions, race distances, and card for today all look exactly the way I like them. Sooo.. we're OFF to the races again.... kurby
Race 2
Got it between two horses, nos. 3 (9-2) and 5 (6-1). No advice as to how to playem, but my LEAN is wheeling the 5 top/bot in exactas and covering with the no. 3 who will prob. get bet down from her 9-2 odds.
Hmm... come to think about it - that's exactly what I'm gonna do this race.
Race 3
EGAD, here we go again... a clone of yesterday's 7th race. Complete with several excellent looking surprise horsies, plenty of speedy types, and YEAH, that bastage, Guerrero. UGH! This trainer is ruining racing at this place cause he refuses to lose a race. This race is ULTRA competitive and he has to have a horse entered in it. SHEEEET! I'll leave ya with this, (and BTW, I DON'T try to find longshots in EVERY race. In fact, I was a frequent visitor to N.Y. tracks and I was mostly a favorite player, and I did pretty good especially at the BIG A, not so much at Belmont).. Following that pattern is suicide at Philly - BUT exactas, even with favorites pay quite well at this track.
The BIG story with this race is the no. 7 hoss, Storm Proof. The morning line (20-1) is absolutely ridiculous and I gotta believe the oddsmaker made that line at a New Years Eve party ,,,, like, AFTER the party. Maybe it's just a mistake/typo. This horse AIN'T going off at 20-1 and should, and just might, be single digit odds. Philly players ain't that dumb. I'd absolutely LUV to put him with a few others for a fat, juicey Philly style exacta payoff. Can't do it with the Guerrero horse in this race dang it cause that means his horse won't even finish 2nd (his 2nd favorite place to finish races). No, didn't find a another 30-1 shot with a chance in this one, but I'll leave yas with horses that I kinda like in this race.. I gotta see how the no. 7 LOOKS in the prerace/paddock (I can watch them today and SPOTTING horses is my strong suit). I believe the contenders are:
no. 8 - Wales is overdue and rides this horse real good,
no. 9 - higher class hoss than the rest and last race sez he's ready
no.10 - is better than his short race record indicates, EXCELLENT breeding
no.12 - plenty of factors (getting tired
)
"Go figure" is all I can say at this point.
Race 4
This one is just an angle play and doesn't have much handicapping substance behind it.
SMALL, like REAL small, play, for me too... trying a KEY zacta box (see my earlier post if ya don't understand this) no 7 (top/bot) with no. 1 and no. 2. Gotta cover with, on the side, a play on no. 9, W/Pl or W/Pl/Sh. If his odds are less than say 5=1, skip the Show part. If I looked for one more it would be the no. 5. Not wasting too much on this race though. Most of the horses in this race are going to come UNglued soon and even the glue factory may not be able to put them back together again.
Don't see anything till the 7th. If there's a good payoff from the races above, I just might hit the road with the money bag in tow.
