I know it is not close, but it is the same concept.
The airlines are saying you are causing burden on another customer.

The comparison is the same in that a fat guy way wipe out all the pizza at a buffet and become a burden on a hungry skinny guy.

It is always easy to blame the fat guy. Usually fun as well but not fair.

Maybe the airlines should make the seats smaller so anyone over 170 has to buy 2 seats.

I would much rather sit next to a Kevin Smith size guy than a lady with a screaming child. They should have to buy the extra seat so that nobody is subjected to sitting next to them.

Does a buffet charge more for a fat guy to eat at it than a skinny guy?

Maybe the airlines should charge people more if they check oversized luggage, or if they check more than the alloted 2 bags they should have to pay an extra fee. All that extra weight burns more fuel, takes up more space, is ... oh hey wait. they do that. gee, go figure.

He does not sit in the area of ONE SEAT on SWA. If you are sitting next to this guy, he is going to get 30% of your seat. That ain't cool, IMO. The seats are small enough as it is. If that fuker was going to be seated next to me on a 5 hour flight to Vegas, I guess I would get off the plane because I have enough trouble with leg room as it is.

Exactly. They charge you a FEE. They don't make you buy an extra ticket to put on more bags.
That is my only point. If you need the extra room then there should be a bigger seat with a premium on it.

Whenever I flew Southwest I always purchased two tickets. I was able to board before everyone else and flew very comfortably as did the person who sat in my row because of the open seat. If the flight was not full, you simply called reservations and they refunded me the price of my extra ticket. I did this four times and four times I was taken care of within 72 hours.

I have been to a pizza buffet before with a guy who could eat it faster than they put it out and they had the game on the big screen so we were in there for about 2 hours.
The manager came and told him he had to pay again if he wanted to keep eating because of the length of our stay.
He said the rest of us were fine. He got SUPER pissed at the manager and demanded to see a sign and told him to call the cops if he wanted him to leave.
It was embarassing for us, but the manager backed down and he scarfed down at least another large saying he may stay and close the place down. It was just after noon. :142smilie
