Good luck with your new lifestyle. I have a swollen lymph node and now get to go to the doctor on Wed. Somehow I'm hoping it isn't malignant but it's pretty ****ing scary.

Saint, 2 years ago they detected the same for me. Had a CAT scan and it turned out to be nothing. I know you're thinking about it all the time. GL

had some swollen nodes(glands) in my neck a few years ago,saint....it turned out to be nothing...

scottie....be real good during the week and have "a little" fun on the weekend...

i do take crestor and fish-oil for cholesterol and mine is completely controlled...i don`t eat red meat...or very much meat at all anymore...

still, you`ll have to get your liver checked periodically...

and get yourself a tredmill,scott...walk at a leisurely pace 4 or 5 times a week for around a half hour...

you`ll be shocked at how much better you`ll actually feel when those endorphins are released into your system...

you can reverse this stuff...

Scott my wife was told the same thing about 6 months ago. Now it is strictly chicken, fish, or turkey. Wasn't that tough to get used to. Just can't do turkey burgers though. She gets one cheat day a month but no burgers even on that day.
..............................................................

I just bought some tolipa fish for dinner. Been eating turkey and chicken breasts.

One cheat a month ? Is that where you can eat anything as much as you want all day ? I like that idea. I think I could do that and be ok.

I talked to a guy this weekend and he has had Type II diabetes since he was 33 for over 20 years. He said he hasnt had a burger in 22 years. Whats wrong with hamburger ? I don't get that part.

It's not hamburger, it's the animals we get our hamburger from. We eat beef from cattle that are eating an unnatural diet. This diet is high in Omega 6, which clots the blood. If you get a good balance of Omega 3 with your Omega 6 (like you would if your cattle ate grass as nature intended) you're good to go. Since you like to eat cheap beef, you get the kind loaded with Omega 6.

If you can find a sustainable farm (note I did not say organic) that raises grass fed cattle, you would probably be good to go.

what are the pills you have to take?

If you walk 4-5 miles (briskly) 4 times a week, that weight will fall off of you. Also cut out caffeine.

Not sure what pills he gave you, but I know I won't take any pills for anything that can be changed by lifestyle.

.........................................................

I really dont like the idea of taking pills every day for the rest of my life, at whatever a month $$

Here is the what I got in the bag

500 mg metformin - supposedly the most prescribed medication in the US as over 35 million Americans take this one.

40 mg pravastatin sodium

500 mg niaspan er / with one aspirn so I dont get fawking hot flashs.

Looks like you have the idea with the chicken and turkey. No burgers because of the saturated fat. I have been doing this along with the wife and it's not that bad. No cravings for burgers. You will find on your cheat day that you really don't want to cheat that much.

Scott, I grill out almost every other night, and I
grill probably 60 % fish, mainly salmon. Try it, you
and your body and taste buds will like it.

It doesn't sound like you are as bad as my wife was. The Dr. told her blood washing was the next step for her. Right now it is controlled by diet he still wants more but her blood tests are better.

No, cheat days don't mean you can eat a lb. of bacon for breakfast etc. After 4-6 weeks of strictly chicken, turkey and fish you will not want to gorge on the cheat day. A cheat day for her is oven fries, small tenderloin steak and a veg. She has gotten used to it and so have I. No fried foods.....GL
