First Big 12 pick is STRONG :mj07:

Take MIZZOU AT NEBRASKA Oct. 4

Sept. 27 Nebraska vs. Va. Tech*
Oct. 4 Nebraska vs. Missouri (HC)***
Oct. 11 Nebraska AT Texas Tech*

*Huskers are 9-2 at home vs current ACC tms with
their last defeat in '85 when FSU won 17-13 in
Lincoln. NU is 20-1 in the gm prior to their conf
opener the L21Y.
***MU did win the Big 12 North LY, but haven't
won in Lincoln S/'78 (0-15 since, avg L by 26 ppg).
NU allowed 606 yds LY vs Mizzou & the home team
has now won 6 straight. ----will be 1-15 :SIB
*The Cornhuskers are 8-4 since 2000 in the state
of Texas including bowl games. Including 06's Big
12 Championship gm, NU is just 8-18 in their L/26
conf away games.

Nebraska Coach: Bo Pelini (1st year at Nebraska)
LY Record: (5-7)
Returning Starters:
Offense: 5
Defense: 6

Phuc Phil's Phorecast : :mj07:

Sept. 27 OPEN :00hour
Oct. 4 Missouri AT Nebraska***
Oct. 11 Mizzou vs Oklahoma State*

***Pinkel after LY's 41-6 domination, "It was as
complete a gm as we've ply'd in a long time".
Tigers are just 16-33 in Big 12 RG's & LY won
more than 2 in one ssn S/'96.
*Mizzou is 10-1 their last 11 Big 12 home games
with the avg score being 35-19. Tigers are 8-3
S/'91 vs the Cowboys & the 3 losses were by a
combined 9 pts. (BUTT, don't bet this game,
Mizzou is AT NEB, VS OKIE STATE, then AT
TEXAS. In fact, I am looking at going against
Mizzou on Oct. 11) :0corn

Mizzou Coach: Gary Pinkel
LY RECORD: (12-2)
Returning Starters:
Offense: 6
Defense: 8

This year MU is even stronger with 14 returning
starters and one of my 8 sets of power ratings
calls for them to have an undefeated year.
(Phil Steele)

:00hour

edit: given the Cowboys away game performance,
I wouldn't touch the MU vs OSU game with
Michael Jackson's dick, if he still has one. :SIB

Between The Hedges
Cna quote numbers like that and make Mack Brown look like Bear Bryant too. The goal is to win championships which was the point of discussion. If you are a fan of a bigtime program, which Georgia certainly is, you shouldnt be getting all excited about 10 win seasons that dont produce national titles or often SEC titles, when your archrival Florida is routinely kicking your ass or when you lose games you have no business losing.

Bottom line he has had the talent to play for the big enchilada and always loses to somebody he has no business losing to, and often at home.

Last year a dreadful home loss to South Carolina in which as I recall Richt the offensive genius couldnt even get a touchdown on the board. The blowout loss in Knoxville was pretty awful at the time as well.

2006 - a home loss to Vandy? Giving up 50 plus to Tennessee at home in losing by 3 TDs when you had the lead starting the fourth quarter?

2005 - a complete gag job in losing at home to Auburn by 1 on the last play Fg after giving up a bomb in the last 30 seconds of the game, in part caused by not going for 2 after a fourth quarter touchdown and instead kicking to get a 6 point lead.

2002-2004 the losses were respectable but when they had to get a big game against an equal or arguably better opponent they lost.

The guy is Mack Brown except for the 2005 win over USC - win 10 games, beat almost everybody you should except once a year or so have an unexplainable dud, struggle against your big name border opponent you play at a neutral site, etc. So yes an ecellent coach, but not a championship coach.

As for Gump, ironically he still wouldnt have one if the voters hadnt completely shafted Georgia and been one of the most screwed up seasons ever. He has the hardware but does anyone truly believe that "proved" he was a great coach?

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Okay I will bite, what coaches do you believe are top notch (championship Coaches) Just remember the criteria you set above and give me some of your top notch ones. And if your premise is that GA has better athletes than Fla,LSU,USC,Tenn, or Aub each year then your just stupid so please save your breath. GL

I will give it one more shot Sun Tzu since you have obviously avoided answering. I wont hold my breath:142smilie

I've beat my brains out on the Big 12 and came to
this conclusion. Although I have this last pick, and
not a strong pick, every team I looked at and my
eyes lit up at a possible situation, I'd look at the
other team and they were in the same situation.
I could give you countless examples, but won't
waste your time nor mine. Which leads me to this
conclusion for Big 12 games, if you take the points
in this conference, you will win. Bold statement, I
dare anyone to challenge me and track it. I dare U.

:00x17

Nov. 1 Take Texas A&M vs Colorado

Sept. 18 Colorado vs West Virginia
Sept. 27 Colorado vs Florida State @ Jacksonville
Oct. 4 Colorado vs Texas (HC)
Oct. 11 Colorado AT Kansas
Oct. 18 Colorado vs Kansas State
Oct. 25 Colorado AT MISSOURI
Nov. 1 Colorado AT TEXAS A&M

:scared

Much like my Auburn over Georgia pick because
of the brutal schedule, look at this fricken ride.
On the flip side.

Oct. 25 Texas A&M AT IOWA STATE
Nov. 1 Texas A&M vs COLORADO
Nov. 8 Texas A&M vs OKLAHOMA

Colorado Coach: Dan Hawkins
LY Record: 6-7
Returning Starters:
Offense: 6
Defense: 8

Texas A&M Coach: Mike Sherman (1st year)
LY Record: 7-6
Returning Starters:
Offense: 5
Defense: 5

I think Dan Hawkins is going to turn heads this
year, and Mike Sherman is going to struggle in
the south. But this game sets up for a letdown
for the Buffs and a monumental effort from the
Aggies.

The only reason I don't pull the trigger on the
Tulsa At Arkansas game is because I think Tulsa
might be favored. And I would not bet against
the Hogs in that situation. And I know some of
you are

but you hide and watch. Tulsa could very well be
undefeated, and Arky could very well be 3-5.

We shall see :SIB

Kramer....Agree totaly with you on S.Carolina at home on Oct 18th. One you might look at....Missouri at Texas on the same day. The Longhorns will be just going through the motions until week 6 at Colorado in their first real road test. Follow that up with a trip to Oklahoma in week 7 and they could be pretty beat up comming back home against a very good Mizzuo team. I have no doubt no matter what the polls say, Missouri will be getting points on the road. My guess is they won't need them. Good luck this year Kramer!

Thanks Corley, got to admit I'm a little surprised
at the Fla/Geo and Aub/Geo lines. I guess Vegas
pretty much agree with me. I won't place $$$
on any of my preseason games till the week they
are played. A lot can happen between now and
then.

I also have to fess up and say I've taken a new
job and I'm working 60 to 80 hours a week and
am having a hard time finding time to do my
homework. I will still do it, because I love it. But
will probably only do the Big 12, SEC, Big 10, and
Pac 10, which really isn't a bad thing. I never
have a good feel for the ACC or Big East and am
even worse in the other conf., besides, there
are a bunch of guys in here that specialize in
those conf.

Kramer,
I appreciate the welcome!!!

I do have a couple of questions for you that will help me put together my game plan for this year.

so far this is what I have:
SEC
10/4 N. Illinois
10/11 Mississippi St.
10/18 S. Carolina
11/1 Mississippi St.
11/1 Flordia
11/15 Auburn

Big 12
10/4 Mizzouz
10/25 Nebraska
11/1 Texas A &M

Does this look correct?
Do you play all these for the same amount?

In your other thread you have totals (all Unders)

SEC
9/20 Mississippi St./Geo Tech
9/27 Auburn/Tenn
10/11 S. Carolina/Kentucky
11/8 Georgia/Kentucky

Big 12
10/25 Texas Tech/Kansas
11/8 Texas/ Baylor

Is this correct & is there more of this coming?
how do these rank to the sides above? Do you play them the same or less?

Thanks

Truckin, I will recap all my picks by the first kickoff.
I will probably wager 100/game in the other thread
and if it goes south right out of the shoot then
will probably just kick back and see how it pans
out. It's just an experiment. Just playing around
with a weird angle. Now on these games, I will
wager to win 200/game. And yes I will bet the
same amount per game. But I will have picks
other than these that are all over the map
depending on how strong I feel about them.

My first Pac 10 pick won't shock anyone.
Take USC vs Oregon on Oct. 4

Aug. 30 USC AT Virginia
Sept. 6 OPEN
Sept. 13 USC vs Ohio State
Sept. 20 OPEN
Sept. 25 (Thurs) USC AT Oregon St.*
Oct. 4 USC vs Oregon***
Oct. 11 USC vs Arizona St.*

*QB Booty's 2 pt pass was batted down with :07
left allowing OSU to hold on in the '06 upset. It
ended thr Trojans 27 gm Pac-10 winning streak.
USC has lost just twice to OSU S/'68 (33 games).
With 2 OPEN dates to rest and practice this will be
a tune up game for Oregon. In a second you will
see Oregon's schedule. It is brutal.
***LY vs UO marked the 1st Pac-10 gm S/'01
that the Trojans weren't favored. Backup QB
Sanchez threw a late int on USC's final drive
allowing the #5 Ducks to prevail. Can you say
revenge.
*Trojans moved back into the Rose Bowl picture
after dismantling the Sun Devils 44-24 in front of
a sold out Thanksgiving crowd LY in Tempe. USC
has won 8 straight in the series.

USC Coach: Pete Carroll
LY Record: 11-2
Returning Starters
Offense: 4
Defense: 7

Aug. 30 Oregon vs Washington
Sept. 6 Oregon vs Utah St.
Sept. 13 Oregon AT Purdue
Sept. 20 Oregon vs Boise St.
Sept. 27 Oregon AT Washington St.
Oct. 4 Oregon AT USC
Oct. 11 Oregon vs UCLA

OK, maybe not brutal but certainly more intense
than USC.

Oregon Coach: Mike Bellotti
LY Record: 9-4
Returning Starters
Offense: 5
Defense: 7

Revenge and scheduling make this a strong pick.

Next Pac 10 game is so out back it's :mj07:

Take Arizona vs Oregon St. on Nov. 22. :Yep:

Nov. 1 OPEN
Nov. 8 Arizona AT Washington State*
Nov. 15 Arizona AT Oregon*
Nov. 22 Arizona vs Oregon State***
Nov. 29 OPEN

*Making his 2nd career start, true frosh RB Nicholas
Grigsby rushed for 186 yds as AZ pounded WSU in
a game that featured 985 yds of total offense &
55 FD's.
*Arizona ended the Ducks BCS dreams by knocking
them off 34-24 last season. In 2006, the Wildcats
won in Autzen Stadium for the 1st time since
1986.
***Arizona has lost 8 of the last 9 games vs OSU
including LY in Corvallis where they trailed 24-3
after the first qt rushing for just 9 yds (0.3 ypc)
the entire game. I bet they get up for this game.

Arizona Coach: Mike Stoops
LY Record: 5-7
Returning Starters
Offense: 10
Defense: 3

Oct. 25 OPEN
Nov. 1 Oregon St. vs Arizona St. (HC)
Nov. 8 Oregon St. AT UCLA
