Has anyone here tied the knot in Vegas? I'm heading out there in November and that's the plan but I'm undecided whether to go with a little chapel package or just say screw it and go with a drive-thru. Any positive input appreciated. :SIB

Vegas Baby !!
Vegas has TON of options for weddings.

I guess everyone has a different agenda, but questions I would consider are:

1. How many people will be attending ?

2. First , second, third or last marriage for both ?

3. How much dough do u want to throw ?

4. What ages are the participants ?

5. Are you into romance, or something on the crazy side ?

6. Will the gang that lives here, be invited ?

7. Does the bride have a wedding dress ??

From a spectacular wedding at Mandalay Bay or Bellagio, to a middle of the road, Flamingo, Vegas has lots to offer.

The wedding chapels that are sprinkled throughout Vegas, each have a different flavor. There are very nice traditional wedding chapels, and some just for the " wam, bam, thank you ma'am kinda weddings.

Themed weddings are getting bigger too.

Start your research HERE

Keep us posted !

I got married in Vegas. Everything in this thread is correct, be prepared to spend time getting the wedding license. I'd go with a chapel pkg and when we did it we rented out the chapel for 2 hours. It was a great time!

We got married at the Monte Carlo, you have the chapel for 1/2 hour and then we booked the upstairs of the brewpub for the reception. We had about 50-60 people come out there.

Wasn't much to plan they took care of everything, all we did was pick out the menu at the brewpub.

To answer some of the questions...

1) It is X&Y.
2) It will just be the two of us.
3) It's the first marriage for him but not me.
4) I will be wearing a dress but not the whole white dress and veil thing.
5) We'd rather have our money to gamble and for entertainment but the drive-in Tunnel of Love is just too tacky for us.
6) We've learned that limo drivers and ministers must have a pretty good gig because they still get a strong tip on top of any package price.

Of course the next year, Chevy Chase would have to follow my lead in " Vegas acation ", and renew his vows there !!

All went well, price was fantastic, and the 'ol lady was satisfied. Mission accomplished !!

Well it looks like the Hollywood Complete Package.... right price, right amenities and leaves more money for gambling! :SIB
1030.jpg

Complete Wedding Package
Price: $225
Includes:
Use of our chapel, music, deluxe rose bouquet, boutonniere, video, 24 color photos, candlelight, ministers fee, limo service, all taxes and gratuities.

Sorry Jaek, we opted out for Elvis to sing three songs and walk me down the aisle. It just seemed a waste of $100.

There will be a live webcast of the ceremony so our families won't feel so left out. We do need witnesses, so if any local Madjackers want to help us out, let me know.

Best wishes, Nurse! My wife and I did a destination wedding with just some close family members and we wouldn't change a thing. I don't know why people pay all that cash for a traditional wedding, but then again, I don't have the most conventional mindset.

Take care and have fun!
