lawn services questions

i'm over run with dandelions (sp) this year. those lawn treatment services claim they get rid of them. true?

i will NOT do it myself.

scott's dropped off a brochure saying $29 first treatment. read the fine print and it's for 5000 sqft or less :mj07:

i have over an acre and i think that's around 45,000 sq ft.

anyway, do they do the job?

they're just now turning from the yellow things to the fuzzy things. i mow them down and the next day those fukers are right back :shrug:

i think the fuzzy things spread the seed and is why i have more and more every year. i caught it from my neighbor, i'm sure.

I know this sounds silly at first, but the best way to get rid of em is to dig up each one. I know you are not going to do that, but maybe you could pay some kids to do that:shrug: It is the best option.

Yes if you have a sodded yard they can handle the issue, however it is more difficult once the weeds germinate. When you have their service they spray a pre-emergent in the winter that does not allow these types of weeds to germinate but it doesnt bother the bermuda(or other breeds of sod). So can someone help you now, yes. Will it be as effective as a pre-emergent would have been,no. Remember jack.....An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

I take it you have a Scotts Lawn Service. It,s worth the money to have them do it. Bargin with them that you want 3 treatment this season and for a large lawn a good price. The 3 treatments you want is this one right now. The next one and early fall. Now by not seeing your lawn they may say you need 4. Ask them witch one and if it will do anything for your weeds forsure your DANDYS.
Because the 3 im telling you about will help with the danys forsure. Scotts Is The Best.

you convinced me, man. i'm calling first thing tomorrow and getting on the program.

there's a lawn up on the corner that has scotts and everytime i drive by i feel like getting out and laying down in there. very nice.

Just buy a wheelerd spreader and get some weed/feed granule. Spread it heavy. It works. Liquid is crap and most evaporates. Do it now and 2 months from now and I promise they'll be gone.
