The point Stuman made is valid - I think you should either be for a "sideline" reporters or not.
I'm not familiar with her specific knowledge - but I see nothing wrong with an attrative female doing the job. Sports is about atheltic ability and entertainment - narrowing the criteria just limits its marketability and the more marketable the sport the more money generated and the more support and successful it will become or remain. Using entertainment/commentator variety to interest a wider variety of viewers, ticket buyers, is positive. Bottom line if the sport ceases to generate returns/interest it ceases to exist.
Just my two cents, I'm sure you guys will jump all over it since I'm after all just a girl

Certainly, she considers herself to be a serious reporter -- and wants to be viewed as such. But she also said that if guys in their 20's watch her because they think she's hot, she's cool with that too. I think she will be a good all around addition. I've been in love with her for a while now so you know i'm stoked about it.

What does a sideline reporter actually find out?
Nolan you are correct sir on most counts but ABC MNF is about fluff and entertainment. They try to appeal to more than just us fans.
Look at it like this: The broadcasters in the booth are the players in the game and the sideline reporters are old jocks or good looking jills. They are the "icing on the cake" if you will. They cannot get any important info. coaches aren't willing to release such info to a man, woman, or alien during a game. So at least give us something to look at during a timeout.
They are useless.
They are just window dressing.
Just sit back and enjoy the show.

i very seldom listen to the play by play announcer & his sidekick who does analysis & definitely do not listen to the sideline reporter. i find that they don't have any useful info to share. so it does not matter who does any of the reporting. so for me i would rather have a nice looking woman to look at then eric dickerson or any other male.
Who gives a sh*t.......Bring on the Big Boobs and Round Butts when it comes to the sideline honeys! Does it really matter enough to get bunched up in the shorts about?
Think about it logically............Does it matter if a Hot Chick tells you that it is cold down here on the field or would it make more sense coming from a dude in his late fifities who would couple the report with a tale of how it used to be much colder in his days on the field because he had no face mask and that real men played football in those days not these sissy's holding out for more money and always crying and whining and moaning? So does it really matter? I mean damn I liked Dennis Miller and was not thrilled that they canned his ham after last season........Personally I think that Madden is a goooomba and all he does is repeat himself.........Damn am I ranting?

let us all be thankful that ABC didn't hire Nolan as their sideline reporter- if his on-air personality resembles anything like his writing then 80% of the audience would be asleep for the second half.

What would motivate you to ever sign up and start posting? You?re too scared to ever step up to the plate and post a pick. Your too scared to ever talk about handicapping. Maybe that?s your issue with Nolan. He puts himself on the line and you can?t.

She gets there on talents, plus has the looks to go with it. Bernstein isn't bad either, Hannah Storm, and the rest are LEGITIMATE reporters. Again -- no problem with them if they are chosed for their sports knowledge.
What I object to is people being chosen based on big tits or superfical qualities. Obviously, I take the game mroe seriously than most and I am an exception. My standards are differnet in terms of what I expect from a broadcast. I also totally agree that some of this fluff is nice to look at, it's just that I don't want to be distracted with puzzy while I'm capping and watching pulling offfensive tackles and deliberating halftime lines. Just me. I'm weird, I guess.
As for S-Love and his comments -- I take no exception. All dissenters are entitled to an opinion -- it's what makes this forum great. Some people don't like my rants and attacks on people. Fine. Don't read the page. But I sure as hell 'aint changing. Only thing I'd like to change is my cold streak in bases, but I can assure you this is going to be on helluva football season.
