Look, a lot of threads here will have a lot researched stats ect, and a lot of that can be usefull but can also get your head going a lot of different ways. Lets keep this SIMPLE! DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! Seattles defense forced 3 4th quarter turnovers againt niners, I can go on and on and on with their defensive stats but we all know what their defense is made of. Peyton Manning in my opinion is best quarterback to ever play the game once the smoke clears, and has tons of weapons around him. Have they been tested against a Seattle defense? Will he find a way to score? Sure he will but not like he has all season.

Peyton has been criticized as being a below par qb in cold weather, he shut is critics up with a great cold weather game this year, but historically his numbers way down in cold outdoor games, and we all know where and when this one is being played. Last but not least Seattle will be able to score on Denver with suspect areas on their defense. If seattle can get it done with more points than niners in a game with that niners defense then rest should fall into place against Denver.

Here's the reasoning.

Peyton Manning is a master of preparation and is at the top of his game at the moment. From a preparation standpoint, he can not be beat.

Seattle is an outstanding defense, but they're just not as good on the road.

Russell Wilson is not a complete quarterback. There's something missing from his game and I can't put my finger on it. The number one thing he does have, is the ability to extend the play. Against subpar defenses, this is an asset that will mean 1st down conversions. Against a good defense, that means turnovers.

Denver Broncos defense is hitting it's stride late in the season. Last three games, they've limited playoff calibers teams to 17 or less.

Weapons, Denver has weapons on offense everywhere, and a quarterback who makes all the reads to take advantage of those weapons, regardless of coverage and scheme. If there is one team in the NFL who can pick apart the Seahawks, it's the Denver Broncos.

Seattle's biggest advantage is how physical it plays. It's ability to control the pace of the game. Those are both in serious jeopardy against a Denver Bronco's squad that has serious talent in the trenches. The defensive and offensive line for the Broncos is probably top five in the NFL.

Seahawks will start strong, but they'll struggle to stop Peyton Manning from scoring. They're attempts to run the ball will go nowhere and as the margin of difference in the score tilts wildly in the Broncos favor, they'll be forced to move away from playing the game the way the Seahawks want to play this match.

Seahawks try to pass, and they'll make turnovers which will solidify the Broncos lead.

have been looking at this game for a bit and understand some things here. Weather will be a factor in this game. It is not really the snow playing as big of a factor as the wind will. I see weather effecting the pass happy attack of Broncos. I feel that Broncos will not be able to run the ball against this Seattle team. On the flip side, I see Lynch having a field day against this Broncos team. I am not sure where Wilson will be, but he will be prepared. All in all,

I feel like Seahawks are under much LESS pressure than Peyton and the Broncos. Yes the Broncos have weapons all over the field, but with snow, and high wind gusts, mixed with this epic L.O.B. the Hawks will be able to contain.. I did not say shut down, just contain. Seattle is a much more physical team and has played a much tougher league and playoff schedule.

I feel like Pete Carroll and his "us against the world" mentality will be good enough to take this game. I had a great playoff run and then I got slaughtered in the NFC & AFC championship games... Here is my bounce back:

I have looked at this game a thousand ways from Sunday. I think the defense stats are kind of blurred because as someone pointed out, Denver had so many quick possessions during the year but have really tried to milk the clock and get points in the post season. What I did do that I thought was helpful, was look at each possession drive by drive here on Covers for all four of the previous post season games. I came away very impressed with what Denver has done defensively in the first three quarters of each game.

Then they have gone to the prevent D and let in some yardage and scores at the end.

If they play like they have recently on Sunday AND DO NOT TURN THE BALL OVER , they should win.

Manning is -170 to throw an INT on 5 Dimes, hmmm NOW thats something to think about

high favored odds to toss an INT hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm but i can see it happening at laest once
