Race 8 # 3 Mocefis

This 7 YO doesn't have the best record in the race but he might be peaking now. On Aug 28 he ran a near best Beyer number for dirt then came back on Sept 4 to run a near best Beyer on turf but he did it under difficult circumstances. He's a deep closer, yet he was able to close to within a length at the finish despite ridiculously slow fractions of :52 and 1:16 4/5. It won't be any surprise if he's beaten but at 15-1 or 20-1 he's worth a shot.

I have no idea. I got to the OTB and found out they don't take Delaware on weekends. WTF is that? They take Delaware during the week. So I didn't see the race. I checked Equibase and their charts aren't up yet.

Finally saw a chart on the race. Mocefis was beaten by a half length at 14.5-1 after crossing over heels in the stretch. This horse is obviously in peak form and will probably be value next time out.

Valuist...agree the horse is in peak form, but don't really know if there's much value in following him up next race....all depend on the situation. That last race was definately the time to play him, even though he only got 3rd, he was a very live long shot. Problem is next race his lines are gonna look pretty good, plus will he have to move up in class (didn't see the type of race, so don't know)

Just my .02, I don't have a lot of experiece with capping the thoroughbred, but have plenty of years of experiece and knowledge capping harness racing.

My guess is under similar circumstances, he definitely won't be 15-1 next time. But he probably will still be 5 or 6-1. I think there could be one race w/value left. I'll be following the Delaware entries, and I'll post next time he's entered.
