How bout trying something a little different before the dirt bombs go on vacation? I'm seeing pricey horses today in almost every playable race..... .. thinking maybe just doing exacta wheels with each (only need to get 1 or 2 dollar tickets cause it's gonna pay very nicely if ya hit one).
The big question is - if ya hit one early on, do ya continue doing the wheelies?... playem just across the board, or go home a winner? I dunno the answer to this question. :mj03:
1st race
No. 4, Deep Down (10-1): Good early speed (yeah, watch out for the anchor though - and I do lose with those early speedy types that have the dang anchor hidden under the saddle quite often), Arce/Lake team up very well together, and this one likes Philly. This hoss likes the 1 mile distance too. Just can't pass up the odds.
IF the cost of zacta wheels (top/bot) are just too risky (I gotta see how this one looks in the prerace) the Daily Doubles are cheaper to play and it's not a bad idea cause it looks TO ME like the 2,4,7, and 10 are the only contenders in the second race. If I take this route, I'll play the 4-4 combo heavier cause repeat nos. work at this track.
3rd race
No. 5, Boss RULES, 12-1 is the bomber in this one. This one has been a thorn in my side for a long time and she can make up for all the times she's burned me today. Can do!
6th race
Probably shouldn't post, OR PLAY, something in this tough, tough race to figure. But I don't wanna come back here and tellyas bout the $50+ weiner I caught today without posting it.. IF it wins, of course. This race has the look of a good ole PHilly fireworks display on the results board AND is loaded with hosses I am very familiar with. The big problem is that I know these nags well enough to think that the race is just too competitive to come up with anything to be confident about.
I'll just leave it this way... . . the no. 1 hoss, Rifle, 20-1 M.L. can leadem all the way IF HE'S READY today after coming back off a little vacation. Watch for this colt to live up to his name and RIFLE outa the gate no matter what happens later. The one's that can press him are on the outside and this race is the right distance to make it tough on them. And... I only see two hosses that can press him in here. Don't have much faith that this trainer will have him ready, but he does have the jockey that can make it happen. His last two races before the 1 mo. plus layoff were terrible too. Maybe Fairlie found the right screw to tighten. We'll see. The 2,5,8,11,and 12 look like the zacta factas, but I think going for them all (nos. 2 through 12) is the only way to make sure ya don't miss the big party if the no. 1 lands in the first or second spot at the finish. Of course, ya/me could just play the no. 1 across the board nice and easy and take it light on the ole bankaroo. Just DON'T look at the zacta payoffs if he wins or finishes 2nd.
7th race
VERLY interlesting alright. No. 6 WAS the pick; but now I see that Bid Report draws into this field. HAH HAH HAH. I think that means, "so much for no. 6 hoss in this race". If there's anybody out there that enjoys the SPORT - this one is made to order. A LOT of fun to follow. I caught Report at a huge price quite awhile ago and pretty much just followed up on her even if I didn't play her. Absolute cheap speed deomon is getting closer and closer to winning one lately. Hope so, at least for the po trainer who is 0 for 36 this meet. Looks like she's up against it in this race with all the good speed inside of her. I thought a few of the speeders could HAVE won this race, but now that Report draws in, thems gonna have to run their big asses off trying to stay close to her so she doesn't steal this race. I think the race sets up for the no. 3, Tyrana; I'll play her if she goes off around her M.L. odds (8-1).
Oh, FOR SHO I'm gonna git me a little bit of no. 2 and prob. a little bit of Report. If any MJers read all the stuff I wrote about the no. 2 hoss - you'll know why. In fact, think I'll git me a little mo than just a little bit of that no. 2 hoss. A 2-6, magic nos. box is also in the cards for me in this one just in case I'm wrong about her (no. 6) getting beaten up too much chasing Bid. That no. 6 does look solid ON PAPER. This race should be a great one to watch.
8th race
Getting typed out :mj13:
Three prices to take a good look at in this race - nos. 1,2, and 7. That Italian hoss I posted and played the other day treated me just fine.. so I think I'm favoring the no. 7, "Brecciate" among the three.
Any of yas know what a BRACCIOLE is?

No? Yeah, I didn't think so.
Now, I'm getting hungry. Gotta go.
