Well I'm hanging up the old gambling shoes. the half point loss on the nevada 1st half line yesterday and the half point loss on the 1st half Ole miss line tonight was enough for me. Tired of losing my money so I am calling it quits. I am sure nobody cares or will miss me, but good luck to everyone.

Good luck, dude.

I, too, have been contemplating giving up capping in all sports aside from football this year, and make this season my last season of capping football.

Lack of time is part of the reason. 4 years ago I had free time to spare, but with two children 4 and under, I no longer have time to spend on it.

The main reason, however, involves setting a good example for my children. I NEVER discuss gambling in front of the kids for obvious reasons, but I know they will catch on to what I'm doing before too long. It'll suck for me because I love sports capping, but I would not want to be the reason that they turned to gambling at a young age.

I picked up gambling starting in school in the 7th grade. It started with pitching nickles and calling odd/even flipping in the 7th grade to pitching quarters, flipping quarters, playing pitch (hi, lo, jack, game), shooting pool for money and playing poker in the 8th grade and beyond. My first bet with a bookie was 1980, Leonard/Hearns for $25, then to NFL, then NCAA, then hoops, then baseball, etc, etc. I have quit 1373 times :SIB

A boookie worked at playground near my house growing up. He got several of us into wagering when I was 13 or 14!!!! My first ever play was $22 (there was a $22 minimum) on Evansville in hoops laying a small number.

got you beat jack....started gambling when i was in about the 5th grade when a group of us used to have baseball pools....we used to take turns picking ball players & grade them on their at bats....a certain amount for a single a homer, etc....in addition we would also challenge kids from nearby neighborhoods to stickball, punchball & other games for money....they were great times !!

My parents were aware of me and friends gambling on everything growing up. I think it all starts with penny card games and grows till junior high summers playing one dollar, two dollar mixed games.

First wager was on Denver Broncos. I was a cart boy at a golf course. Pro shop attendant bet on games all the time and got me into it. $300 bucks was two weeks paycheck, poof gone and hooked.

Degenerate Seth came around from 17 to 21 as some of you might remember here.

Then the good years 22 to 28 betting between 300 and 2000 a game. Now I'm just a dude who frequents a sports betting forum but doesn't bet. Weird.

It all started with those penny games of: 7-27, black mariah, between the sheets, baseball, screw your neighbor, ect ect ect

Loved playing the game of Pitch growing up, have met very few people outside of MO that play it.

Pitch was big where I grew up in Mo.

Played

5 point --add a joker to Jacks version

7 point (add another joker and an off-jack)

10 point (same as seven expect you play with all cards down to the deace and the 3 counts 3 points)

Good luck. I think we all have been there before. For me, and due to the fact I am an action hound, I just toned down the bets. It's amazing how I always hit the $50 or $100 plays, but god forbid I shoot something it is a automatic loser, therefore for the thrill of it I play small anymore. It's not worth anything more.
