Come on KOD, grow a pair and take criticism.

Personally, leaning WVU. Feel Geno Smith is the real deal and LSU playing back-to-back road games and might be in a little trouble. We'll see, but leaning WVU myself and I'm not bashing your play as I believe LSU has the best front 7 in the country, but not sure about their secondary and they will be tested. Also, just a feeling dogs roll tomorrow in big games, but just a feeling. Dogs were crushed last week and I see a huge turnaround this week.

Regardless, good luck!
.....................................................................

It wouldnt be the first time that WV made me pay on a wager.

But LSU is in the perfect position for this game.

They have played very good teams .

And WV has played ...........

well you catch my drift.

It may be close for awhile , but LSU puts on the stomp a eer in the second half. Geno Smith aint seen a rush like this in his life.

He will not be able to pass at will .

LSU is like Auburn last year.

In yet another marquee matchup with a Top 25 opponent, the second-ranked Tigers try to back up Taylor's words when they visit No. 16 West Virginia on Saturday night.

LSU (3-0) was expecting a strong test defensively last Thursday against then-No. 25 Mississippi State, which had scored 93 points and racked up 1,176 yards of offense in its first two games at Memphis and Auburn. The Tigers, however, proved to be too strong, limiting the Bulldogs to 193 total yards and two field goals in a 19-6 victory.:scared

West Virginia would seem to have an advantage in the rematch by playing in Morgantown, where it has won 16 of 17, but LSU has won 35 straight non-conference games in the regular season -- the longest streak in the nation -- since losing to Virginia Tech in its 2002 season opener.:0074

West Virginia is the third non-conference opponent of 2011 for LSU, and also the third ranked foe. The Tigers, who beat then-No. 3 Oregon 40-27 in their season opener, are the only program that will have played three Top 25 opponents in its first four games.:0008

:scared :SIB
Although the offense marched down the field early against the Terrapins, leading 34-10 midway through the third quarter, it only added another field goal and nearly allowed Maryland to pull off an amazing comeback.

"We didn't put together four solid quarters," said Smith, who ranks fourth in the FBS in passing yards with 1,008 along with seven touchdowns. "We did good in the first half. We moved the ball. They responded. They stopped us. We need to come back and show more effort and play harder."

Playing two good halves seems imperative against the Tigers, who rank sixth in the FBS in total defense at 207.7 yards per game. They've forced seven turnovers and recorded 31 tackles for loss -- including 15 against Mississippi State, their most in a game since getting 17 against Auburn on Sept. 18, 1999.

"I expected this to be a very good defense and there is no surprise here," coach Les Miles said. "If the defense continues to play with that intensity, it has the opportunity to be a special defense."

While most figured LSU would have a strong defense and running game, the expectations for quarterback Jarrett Lee weren't nearly as lofty at the start of the season, but the senior quarterback is showing he can be counted on to lead the offense in place of the suspended Jordan Jefferson.

Lee passed for 213 yards and a touchdown against the Bulldogs, and has completed 30 of 37 passes in the last two games.

Playing with a strong running game helps, and LSU's certainly qualifies. Spencer Ware and Michael Ford have combined for 444 yards and seven touchdowns.

Lee will also have the benefit of throwing to Russell Shepard. The junior receiver is set to return after a three-game suspension because of an NCAA rule violation.

"I don't think it will take time for Russell to get back into it in any way," Miles said.

Good Luck KOD. Can think of numerous reasons to back LSU, but this is a tough spot for the Tigers regardless. Figured they would be laying 4 to 4.5 so laying 5.5to 6 is higher than I expected. If you recall, WVU should have won at LSU last year, but lost a heartbreaker 20-14. Geno threw for 24 TD's vs. 7 INT's last year and he's 7 - 1 this year with 1,008 yard passing and 70%. If he gets time, this game will be interesting....

if ifs and butts were candy and nuts we would all have a merry christmas

Not having enough time to pass is exactly the reason I make this wager.

It will make up for any intangibles in the LSU
secondary.

They beat Oregon . WV is no where near the overall team Oregon is.....

GO LSU !

would it be ok if I did a poll in the Gen Forum about this ?

Just to see what ppl think ?

I believe that Wilson post was a bash just as much as mine was to arrow. If Wilson was jesting how do you know I wasn't ?

Wilson pretty much hates me from way back when.

There was little differance.

PS - I like you too boss.

I was joking Scott. I am sorry if I offended you. Good luck with your wager.

Sheesh. :toast:

Scott, make a fun wager with Wilson on it. If Lsu wins and covers the number, Wilson needs to change his avatar to an Lsu one for the rest of the season. If Lsu looses you you can put a uwv avatar. I would take that bet. Either way Wilson is going to see the chicken dinner pic tonight in his dreams! Bank on it. West Virginia will play fired up and hang around for a little while but there undersized not very deep and cannot run the ball. There is a ton of value in Lsu tonight minus 6.

Play Lsu -6

Destructor- good points, not the same team on the field for uwv as last year, no Devine, 4 returning starters on defense, new offensive scheme, besides they are totally unproven. Lsu is battle tested healthy, has had a few extra days to prepare and loves playing under the big lights, make no mistake about it Lsu will win this game!

Its hard to believe with all the turmoil to start the year, but in the games I have watched them I see a National Champion type team.

Defense wins and speed kills.

The LSU running backs will churn like tanks in this game.

If Lee plays well LSU wins, If he doesnt they struggle and lose and that goes for every game this year not just this one.

may be of some interest:

THE STORY: It?s another primetime game for No. 3 LSU, which has already knocked off two ranked opponents in Oregon and Mississippi State and is gaining more and more national attention with each impressive victory. The Tigers rank sixth nationally in total defense and third in rushing defense, which is even more eye-opening considering the quality of opponents they have played. In its first season under coach Dana Holgorsen, No. 16 West Virginia is also off to a 3-0 start but has yet to face a ranked opponent. This is the second meeting. Last year, LSU opened up a 17-0 second-quarter lead and held on to win 20-14 in Baton Rouge.

LINE MOVES: This game opened at -5.5 in favor of LSU and has moved to 6 at some shops. The total opened as high as 50.5 but has since dropped to 48.

ABOUT LSU (3-0, 2-1 ATS): As it turned out, the suspension of quarterback Jordan Jefferson prior to the season opener hasn?t mattered as much as many experts speculated. First, backup Jarrett Lee has proved to be more than capable as an efficient game manager. And second, the defense has been so dominant, the Tigers haven?t needed many points. In last week?s 19-6 win at Mississippi State, LSU held the Bulldogs? strong ground attack to 52 yards on 34 carries. Sophomores Spencer Ware (226 yards, three touchdowns) and Michael Ford (218, four) lead a powerful LSU rushing game.

ABOUT WEST VIRGINIA (3-0, 1-2 ATS): The Mountaineers have won 18 straight non-conference home games since losing to Virginia Tech in 2005, but will have their hands full against the Tigers, who haven?t lost a non-conference regular season game since 2002. West Virginia led by as many as 24 points last week against Maryland but gave up 21 unanswered points in the second half. The Mountaineers held on for a 37-31 victory, but not before allowing 477 total yards. West Virginia is averaging 434.7 yards per game, which ranks 23rd nationally.

TRENDS:

- Tigers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as road favorites.
- Mountaineers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games as underdogs.
- Over is 4-1 in Tigers' last five non-conference games.
- Over is 11-4-1 in Mountaineers last 16 games as home underdogs.

this is easily the most heavily bet game (in terms of number of total bets) of the day, which is especially impressive since it doesn't kickoff until 8 p.m. ET.

Sharp money on WVU +6.5

Hitting it hard!

LSU is 3-0 against the spread. And sharp money was all over Miss St and Oregon also. Sometimes the better football team wins games. I like trends but if you think LSU isn't going to be up for this game your crazy. They love the spotlight and if youve been watching all year guys had #10 on their arms for Russell Sheppard, he is back tonight and will be a game changer!

I don't know how "sharp" money could bet against this defense, but what do I know? Also, the line opened at -5, which is where I got it. You say it has been bet up to -6, but you got +6.5? Never seen anyone buy a half point to get to 6.5...BOL.

Sharp money was on Oregon last year in the NC game and I followed it and got murdered! Sharp money is great but you have to look at the teams on the field. THIS IS NOT LAST YEARS WVA TEAM. They have 4 returning starters on D, they havent played a quality opponent yet this year and there rushing for less than 50 yds a game against highschool teams. Not a homer play here. LSU is the play believe me if the line was 11.5 or 12 I would consider the mountain men. There not deep they can't run the ball and there undersized on Defense. I am not saying LSU is unstopable there shit offensively but Defense wins championships.

The Tigers not only manhandled Oregon to all but end the Pac-12's relevance for the season, but they showed last week against a tough and explosive Mississippi State team that getting tough and nasty isn?t a problem.

They?ve been brutish on the lines, mistake free in key situations, and dominant defensively with the look of a national champion. It could be argued that no one has two stronger or more impressive wins than the victories over the Ducks and Bulldogs, and both were away from Death Valley. Now it?s time to walk into another hostile environment against a desperate team trying to make a statement with the season all but on the line. Of course West Virginia wants to win the Big East title and go to a BCS game, but this is it. This is the chance at respectability, and this, in every sense of the concept considering the goofy college football post-season, is a playoff game.

Last year, West Virginia was 3-0 with a dominant defense and strong offense going into the date at LSU. The game was there for the taking with Tiger quarterback Jordan Jefferson throwing two picks and LSU committing 12 penalties, but the Mountaineers turned it over two times, failed to get the running game moving, and stalled in the fourth quarter of a tough 20-14 loss. This year?s team is more explosive under Holgorsen, but this year?s LSU squad is far better, too.

The LSU run defense is playing at a whole other level, and the Mountaineers don?t have the lines to hold up. The days of the Rich Rodriguez offense with Pat White and Steve Slaton running wild are over. While Holgorsen made a point of getting the ground game going when he was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, he hasn't gotten much of anything so far from a running attack that's averaging a miserable 79 yards per game and can't seem to find any sort of a groove. The offensive line is full of veterans and has enough talent to be better, but it's not blowing anyone off the ball so far.

The WV return game has to be phenomenal. LSU's coverage teams have been special so far, forcing minus yards overall on punt returns and not allowing a thing on kickoff returns. West Virginia, though, has gotten explosive performances out of Tavon Austin, who not only caught 11 passes for 122 yards against Maryland last week, but is fourth in the nation averaging 22 yards per punt return and is 16th in kickoff returns, averaging 29.44 yards per try. If the Mountaineers are going to have any shot, they're going to need something special like a big return or a big defensive play. They're also going to need to bomb away.

What happened to the West Virginia pass rush? Last year the Mountaineers finished second in the nation behind Boise State with 45 sacks while finishing second in run defense and fourth in total defense. Bruce Irvin finished second in the nation behind Da'Quan Bowers in sacks with 14, while Julian Miller added 14 tackles for loss and nine sacks. So far this year Irvin has just one sack, and it's the team?s only one in the first three games, while Miller has just two assisted tackles for loss. That's not going to work. LSU's offensive line has been stellar so far, but it hasn't been a brick wall in pass protection. Tiger quarterback Jarrett Lee has kept the big mistakes to a minimum, mostly because he hasn't been under a ton of pressure and hasn't had to press. That has to change this week as the Mountaineers have to dial up the pass rush and have to be in the backfield all game long.
