It will be interesting to hear your eval of the mac after 90 days.

On another note, I have a question that I don't know the answer to. I think everyone would agree that Mac's biggest drawback is the small amount of programs that are available.

why 90
I think the biggest drawback to a Mac is the price you pay for it.
I am a PC guy not because PCs are better, but they make more fiscal sense.
If you have the expendable income, then Macs are great. Apples to Apples, Macs are usually about 2 - 2.5 times more expensive.
no shit we spent almost 5K on an imac, airbook and an ipad, then the girls wanted to go to the mall :142smilie
Say goodbye to "Syntax Error" and all that shit.
you mean you have to share the new computer?
I guess we're going to have to start a MAC forum, or Apple forum![]()
u better not u see what the hunting forum cost :sadwave:

As far as the Microsoft (or other brands) software being converted. They are not. These are versions written specifically for Macs. They work great.
But this is becoming less and less applicable with web services (think Google Docs vs. Microsoft Office)
The danger of viruses most likely has nothing to do with your software. It is your operating system. So the Mac OS is the layer of protection currently against viruses.
This, in my opinion, is going to get hairy as the market share for Macs continues to grow. The reason why PCs have always been targeted by hackers/thieves is because there was an overwhelming market share.
If Mac ever gets to 50% market share, I think the safety that Mac users currently have will start to go away. NO system is hacker proof. It's impossible.

The price of a PC and a MAC are the same.
PC - $750
MAC - $1500
Three to four years later - you will need another $750 PC.
The mac - three to four years later will be running at the same speed and quality.
So you're saying that for the same price I can buy another computer every 3 years. Since they are always making faster processors and better graphics cards, I can essentially trade my old computer in and get a better, faster computer for the same price. SOLD! Sounds like a no brainer.
