nice work Saint

Thought about this thread cuz I need to look after some weight issues myself. Hitting maximum density for this body real soon.

My voice changed the other day when I put my jeans on. And I don't think it's cuz I'm going through puberty again.

It's never too late IO, slow and steady wins the race. Just make some 'rules' and try to stick with them. Allow yourself some cheat meals on the weekend for sanity. Don't beat yourself up if you fall off the horse, it's bound to happen. Just get up and go for it!

Started at 242 and now have sat at 231 for the past ten days or so, having trouble breaking though. Was excited how easy the first ten was but always knew it would get tougher from here.

Pants feel loser in the waist and tighter around my quads, it's like if I even look at a weight my legs grow...wish my arms were that way :mj07:

I use to have to drop weight for high school athletics (wrestling). Initial weight loss really is of no effect to the body. A long term weight loss of 20 to 30 pounds is one thing. But as far as going on a "diet", the initial loss is meaningless. It can be gained back in a day or two. I use to be able to drop 5 pounds in a day. You actually lose 2 to 3 pounds just by sleeping. Once your body realizes it's being deprived, it shuts down the calorie burning and tries to conserve as much as possible. You go off and return to old behavior and you will easily throw 20 to 30 pounds right back on and be back to your initial weight that your body was use to operating at.

I'm sure I don't know what I'm talking about.

One more thing.....

You really aren't going about it the right way without doing something cardio along with a proper diet.

It took a long long time to put that weight on. You just don't drop it and it's gone.

came across this simple article on the net.....

Sure, going on a starvation diet will help you lose weight fast. But the million dollar question is, "Will you be able to keep it off long-term". Most probably not! Sooner or later you are likely to return to former habits and you'll find those lost pounds racing back to reclaim their lost space.

The key to losing weight and keeping it off is in increasing your activity level while at the same time reducing your calorie level. One without the other is a complete waste of time. Running around the block a couple of times and then quenching your thirst with a large glass of soda, is an exercise in futility.

Check out these 3 strategies that are guaranteed to help you lose weight fast and keep it off forever:

Set Realistic Goals

Be realistic about how much weight you can lose safely. Weight that is lost slowly and steadily tends to stay away longer too. Starving yourself thin never really works. As soon as you reach your desired weight you are bound to start eating a normal diet and all the lost weight will come stampeding back. Besides which it is an unhealthy way to lose weight and can lead to other complications.

Change Your Eating Habits

It's the little changes that go a long way. Instead of cutting out a favorite food altogether, consider cutting back on the size of the portion. That way you are not likely to feel completely deprived and binge on it when you get a chance. Eat five small meals a day instead of three large ones. Always keep plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and other low-calorie, healthy snacks at home to stave away mid-day hunger pangs.

Move That Body

No need to sweat it out in the gym if you don't want to. Small doses of physical activity like a daily walk in the park or walking up the stairs instead of taking the lift can turn into effective weight-loss exercises.

I'm sure I don't know what I'm talking about.

Well you already have proven you don't know how to read if you think we are all on crash diets.

But thanks for the article -- to think I dropped 3% body fat in those first ten pounds, when all I lost was water! I must be the luckiest guy in the world.
