Taoist,

Sounds good but we all know it will turn into a big headache that I certainly don't want.

Tom Landry is welcome to play as long as he does not try to pay with a fradulent credit card like my buddy Cyrus the Virus, AKA "The Stiff"

Taoist, I'm in and if there is any cost involved in putting that together I would be more than willing to contribute. But as TwoFingers alluded to, I could see this "trophy" getting lost once it was won by the wrong person. Still might be worth a shot though.

Twofingers.... I will take care of shipping it to the winner. You have enough responsibility collecting, setting up and whatnot. I wasn't planning on making it any more responsibility on your part. Just send me the address of the winner at the end and I'll send them the cap in the mail. I just wanted to get some feedback from some of the regulars...and if I'm reading you correctly, you have the same concerns that I have...but like Blackman said, why not give it a chance?!?! At least it can't turn into a headache until somewhere around May of 2007.... ;) LOL

Blackman.... I looked the other night on the net for a small (size of a quarter) Eagles pin to attach to the Army hat provided by Box, but I didn't find any that really suited me. I already have a small yin-yang pin that I plan to use for myself. If you have a small pin or could find one, it would really be appreciated.... You could just drop it in the mail to me in an envelope and I will attach it and send the hat with the 2 pins to the winner.... (You can get my e-mail from Jack or Twofingers...or any number of old regulars on the site.)

You also voiced the same reservations that I have about a newbie winning and then being MIA next year when this tourney rolls around, but I'm like you, it may be worth a shot.... If an old regular wins, I'm not worried and if a newbie wins, it might give him a reason to become an old regular.... :)

Anybody else have a take on this???

p.s. Jack, do you have something that would signify this website that i could attach to the hat so that the winner remembers from whence it came and to where it belongs??? (If you'd just as soon not get involved, I understand.... Tom has already stated that this site has no affiliation with the contest other than your allowing him to post it here....)

...my pin looks like this and is the same size, I just took it off an old necklace....

If you want to take charge Taoist, go right ahead. If I ever win I will be proud to put my SU Championship pin front and center.

I'll start looking for an Eagles pin soon. Once I get it I'll contact you and send it off, I think it's a good idea.

That's what I meant Taoist. You handle the hat, I'll do the rest.

LOL

Didn't mean to scare you.

Two fingers.. i think its great you run this. Just curious if anyone else feels the way I do that yahoo ruins these by how they weight the rounds.

There is no benefit to being a good capper here imo. All you need to do is pick one of the 6 teams who can legitimately win the tourney and hope you are right.

I know officefootballpool dot com lets you cutomize the scoring.

It does cost a little but I'd be willing to pay for it if the interest was there.

Think scoring should be something like
first =1 point
2nd =2
3rd =3
4th =4
5th =5
6th = 10

Well I agree with Clem, the weighted scoring does add some luck to it, but I also wouldn't have won if it wasn't for the weighted scoring that Yahoo provided. Picking 3 of the final four was essentially I had to do.

Worth discussion though.

bump city

It's Saturday night
and I'm just hangin' out
Lookin' for a place to party
So I jumps into my ride
and I hits the road
Cause there's only one place to go

Down to the nightclub
Oo the women be righteous and ready and pretty
ready and pretty
To the nightclub
We go bumpty-bumpty bump
(Bump City)

I would like to see some reward for picking a High seed to advance. A 10 seed moving to the sweet 16 should be worth a lot more than a 2 making it.

This may have been mentioned but I was too lazy to read through the posts.
