I found it and it looks great!

I want to hear all about it. That is the same smoker I have. I don't have the combo gaser though.

I've got some great mods for the smoker if you want them.

:toast:

Congrats!

From what I have read they do regional sales. Tracter Supply had the whole thing for $299...Yep I want to see the mods........ I saw online where you put a baffle in to move the heat and I saw one to bring down the stack.

Morris, I notice you have a Amarigas Tank on the unit. Maybe yours will be fine where it came with the unit, but a lot of people up our way are running into probems with the fittings not connecting when firing up the grill.

Mine had a Blue Rhino Tank, took it to a exchange center, came out with a Amerigas Tank had issues since. Took it to get checked and was told the tanks sux and the fitting dont work with most grills.....so I sit with a full tank, SOL.

Looks like a BUTE enjoy :0008

Those are the two best mods. This site will keep you busy for a long time.

The themos that come with them (or mine) are not accurate. Get a wireless Maverick ET-732.

I've been looking at these all year and can't wait to see some food coming off of it.

Awesome, nice purchase. Next get some good lump charcoal and some applewood.

What is your plan to season that thing?

I have been on that website for the past 4 days......I'm getting dizzy!

I wanted to ask how you did the seasoning?

I sprayed the whole thing with Pam or some other cooking spray. The entire surface inside. Lid, under the grate, everything. Then I coated everything with extra virgin (but not expensive) olive oil with a paint brush.

Then I started a chimney (never use lighter fluid EVER) of lump charcoal and then added applewood splits for about 5-6 hours. I took that time to learn the air vents to try to keep it at 225-300.

Great rig for the money. I am sure yours will be great too.

As much as I like cooking with coal and wood, sometime gas is all people have time for.

Never thought of Pam! Good advive!!

No lighter fluid for me and I read where lump was better. Thanks!

I'm sure it's a learning process for the vents.

I'll probably do ribs first 3-2-1 method but give me your way of doing it! Thanks

Just to be clear. The first time you light it up and season it don't cook any food. Aside from learning the grill and seasoning it, you are cooking off any oils or other BS that come with a brand new gril.

I'm still fine tuning my rib cooks. Last time I put them on the cooker and let them sit for 7 hours and didnt foil or do anything. They were fall off the bone but a little dry.

Try everything twice and see what you like. I like spares better. The wife likes baby backs.

Over all I like pork shoulder the best.
