From CNN... I didn't recognize the name, but then I saw the face and knew it immediately. I think this is a VERY big fish and good news that he's been caught....

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- The man linked to nearly every al Qaeda terrorist attack in the last 10 years -- including the September 11, 2001 attacks -- was among three suspected al Qaeda operatives arrested Saturday in a house in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, coalition intelligence forces confirmed to CNN.

Khalid Shaikh Mohammed was among three suspected al Qaeda members arrested by FBI agents and Pakistani security authorities and taken to the nearby capital of Islamabad on Saturday.

Mohammed's al Qaeda roots run deep and wide. He is believed to have been involved in the terrorist organization since the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

Mohammed, a Kuwaiti national, was indicted in the United States in 1996 for his alleged involvement in a Philippines-based conspiracy to bomb commercial U.S. airliners. That indictment landed him on the FBI's list of 22 Most Wanted Terrorists, issued in October 2001.

Al Qaeda leader Abu Zubaydah, who is in U.S. custody, has named Mohammed as a key financial figure in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

you know it is possible that we have had this guy for some time. If they had just captured him seems like it would be better to keep it quiet and interrogate him. WHERE IS OSAMA ?

Maybe we are hot on bin ladens tracks and we are trying to flush him out. He is probably being hidden in Pakastan,

Things are not always as they seem.

I'm sure Osama was long gone from wherever he was the second they heard this guy got caught... but still, any info we can get from this guy is good. I still say this is where our military focus should be, trying to find these guys, instead of pissing around in Iraq. We have a couple of high-ranking guys now, let's just hope we can dig out bin laden and that No. 2 guy (can't remember his name but have seen his face countless times on cnn- he's like an egypitan exile if i remember correctly).

Scotty....obviously we owuld have liked to do this but we have to work with the Pakistanis.....they have big mouths....

note that FBI is not saying a word about this...

when we round up these people like this needless to say it will make terrorists think twice about screwing with us....Saddam is taking notice.....his number is already up......biggest thing Saddam has going for him now is all the anti-American Anti War people....he is counting on them for support

All you anti-War pro-bioterrorism people keep it up!!! You are feeding the UN monster and Saddamites!!!!! If you get your way, we will have a cloud of nerve gas over a city near you in the not too distant future!!!!!

I stand corrected, I was never against the Iraq situation, but was a bit pissed that IT SEEMED we forgot about Bin Laden and turned our focus to Iraq to cover that up, again I stand corrected.
We just can never forget that this maggot has the blood of thousands of American men, women, children, mothers, and fathers on his hands. I hope Scott is right and things are not what they seemed.

Penguinfan the corrected.

We have enough power & Inteligence to be in Iraq and other "hot spots". These rats are on the run and they will be either captured or killed.as far as bin laden goes,If we get him fine....but it's not him that is doing the act of terror.....he's just one big smelly piece of shit hiding in a cave on the other side of the planet and he knows that his days are numbered if he's not dead already. If you all open your windows and listen good, You may be able to hear this asshole Khalid Mohammad crying and screaming like a bitch as he meets his new friends from the CIA.......

More to come......

It's great we have this guy. Bur somehow I miss the logic of this thread. The capture of this scum bag proves that they still out there. This does not, as of yet, make any connection between the 911 attack and Iraq. Perhaps he could have been captured earlier and maybe his friends would all ready be captured if we were not spending so much time and money on Iraq.

I'm with you StevieD....

and calling someone "probioterrorism" because they don't necessarily support the unprovoked invasion of another county is just plain stupidity.

I'll refrain from further comments on this subject as I hate to see these threads end up being just back-and-forth bickering between head strong people who won't change their mind- myself included.

I HOPE IT IS THE RIGHT PERSON THIS TIME

Hope the FBI haven't f--ked up this time. They arrested a man from the UK on holiday in South Africa, detained him for ten days and then realised they had arrested the wrong person after a tip off that the person wanted was in VEGAS.

An appology to the man from the UK by the FBI is disqusting. During his detained period, he was not interviewed only to confirm his name and surrender his passport. They didn't take his finger prints, if they had, it would have confirmed he was not the person the FBI wanted. The person who was wanted had somehow used the internet to get this persons details and hence adopt his name.

I HOPE THE MAN FROM THE UK SUES THE ARS OFF THE FBI. THEY AS AN ORGANISATION ACTED UN-LAWFULLY BY DETAINING A PERSON WITHOUT INTERVIEWING, OR FINGER PRINTING HIM TO ASCERTAIN IF INDEED HE WAS WHO HE SAID HE WAS.

JUST ANOTHER F--K UP BY ONE OF THE WORST GOUVERNMENT AGENCIES THERE IS IN THIS WORLD.

LETS SEE ABOUT $100 MILLON DOLLARS COMPENSATION SHOULD DO AND THE TOP BRASS TO GET FIRED.

I don't care how patriotic you are, you must surely agree that this stinks and the FBI should not be able to act in this manner and must be made to pay for incaserating a person that was clearly innocent.

Funny where you find your friends at differant times. Pakistan seems to work with us better at this time then France,Germany Turkey an so on. Turkey now will hold another vote Tuesday. I hope we just say screw it and move our boys to Kuwait and get then the hell of those ships. Was reported our FBI with close and reliable help from Pakistan secrete police got the job done. We were not told at once becasue they wanted him out of Pakistan first. I have idea he is in good hands. First they talk with him for afew hours or days. Then we should have big pitcure shoot when they bring him to prison here. That is if they did not have it ealier today.
