I come on here saying I hope the FBI have the right person this time as they made such a cock up only a few weeks earlier.

Next thing is others on here bring up insulting comments about previous wars and one particular battle. It is not the battles that count but the War. Read any book regarding facts (true) of the war and you will see that it was the war in the sky's that ultimately won the war.

As for the FBI they are pricks. I hope the bloke sue's them for millions. Like a great number of posters on here and the FBI there are so quick to jump in without reading or listening to the facts.

You think you are one great nation, but without your allies you would probably now be not living as most forces in the world would come together and wish to distroy. China for one is waiting in the wings and biding it's time.

It doesn't say much when your forces and intelligence spend over a year looking for bin laden, and what, STILL NOT FOUND HIM.

Although I understand your plight and hope Britain and America can stand side by side with this imminent war with Iraq, I will wait for my grand children to say to me in 20 years time that he heard America defeated Iraq. You all think it is you and no one else that achieves success, and if in the end your not part of it, then it doesn't matter.

Let's put it into a sporting context, as this is ultimatly a sports forum.

You have in American Football the superbowl. What's "super" when only one country takes part. Then you have the World Series in baseball, what's with the "world" bit. Are there only two countries America and Canada in the world. Why not call it the North American series. Tell you why, not glamious enough you Americans. Not big enough unless it incorporates the world which are not allowed to participate. Now on to basketball and the NBA, supposed to be the best in the world. Take out the foreign players and the game would suck big time. Argue the point. How did America do at the last world championships. Lost to Argentina if I remember and didn't even get to thje final. All in all, the best players come to play sports in America because the money from the TV is there, and more importantly, if they are half decent they are guaranteed a game because the standard of North American players is poor.

On to the humour side of things. You Americans like every thing that is big. If it's not big, it's useless. Look at it. Big shopping malls, big sports complex, etc, etc. Well I have a friend you runs a successful taxi company and as I said in previous threads, where I live we have two large American air force bases. Well one day he had to take this American person to the airport, and as they were driving along, this American person said "Hey! whats that large building over there". The driver replied "that's a hospital". The American responds, "Heck, back where I come from in Texas we have hospital ten times that size". To which the driver replies, "that doesn't surprise me, because that's a mental hospital"

I done with here. I defend my small, but proud nation Britain, but once more some Americans come on here thinking they have the bloody god damn right to insult me. my countryman and woman and our Prime Minister.

hey in America we have the bloody right to say whatever we want Bulldog.....

great anecdote about the Texan and the comeback by the taxi driver....

you Euros think you are so sophisticated and everything has to be so nice and "quaint" it makes me want to puke....why don't you go bow to King George or whoever the hell it is over there right now and if anyone should dare "insult" the King or Queen i bet you would wnat to say "off with his bloody head" or some other saying....

concerning Blair....he does what he thinks is right....good man....bad leaders consistently have their fingers testing the political winds which amounts to zero leadership at all.....i respect him for that and most Americans do as well...like to see backbone....yeah youve had some good leaders in the past too...unlike most other euro countries so you deserve credit for that Thatcher helped Reagan bring down the Communist Empire and Churchill saved your ass after Chamberlain slept at the wheel...

To those knocking Great Britain, you are wrong. I agree with Bush's stance on the war on terrorism & the impending war against saddam, but I have come to admire Tony Blair for his stance in backing the US against overwhelming public opinion. He is putting his political career on the line because he thinks he is doing the right thing. I would like to see more politicians stand up for what they believe in, instead of checking opinion polls before they speak. IMO, he along with the President of Spain are the only european leaders who understand how saddam is playing everyone as fools.
Even during WW2 the Brits had our backs, as a good friend should. I also think that Churchill played an important part in the victory against germany.
IMO, America is a great country & I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. But something positive can be said about living in Great Britain & Canada, although I don't like the postions Canada is taking on the war against terrorism.

There is no need to make British Bulldog & crookycymru feel uncomfortable. They are two quality posters who bring a different flavor to the forum. I, for one, would hate to see them get turned off from posting on this forum because they felt unwelcomed here. It is okay to disagree with people, that's what makes it interesting. But no need to personally flame the poster or belittle their country.

Sorry to be on this soapbox, but thought it should be said.

British Bulldog, you are right that it was the Air superiority that was the telling factor in the war. What you seem to forget is that the Germans destroyed all of your planes and it was our B 51 mustangs we supplied that allowed your country too maintain a presence in the air. We lost more merchant marines supplying England with supplies then we did in the entire war. If it were not for those thousands of merchant marines that gave their lives Hitler would have easily invaded your country against a beaten down British Military.

One more point, we didn't even use your engines against the Japanese. It was the Americans who had to keep England supplied with weapons while they took a beating from Hitler. It was America who had to feed the starving Russian army,It was the Americans who dominated two major fronts in the war. We took on the Japs by ourselves, it was the Americans who liberated France while the Brits were brewing tea.

I am sorry I ever got involved in this thread and I apologize for offending anyone but that statement about Americans speaking Japanese if not for the British engine is ridiculous. I

Went to London last fall with my Mom. Had a friggin blast. Went to see as many things as I could. Parliament, Abbey, Cabinet war rooms, etc...etc.... Found the people to be friendly and entertaining, and generally good natured. Food sucked for the most part. I found a few places later on that were good though. Beautiful women everywhere and I mean everywhere. Couldn't hit any of 'em though cuz Mom might have frowned on that since we had to share a room. Good beer.....I don't know I don't really have anything against the Brits....they seem o.k. to me.....Although there was this one women that was very opinionated on the Bush stance etc....but she was married and hanging all over this other dude, so her opinion meant little to me. Trains are cool. Of course it is always rainy, cold and crappy out except for one day we were there. I will say this I thought Princess Diana was hot, I woulda hit it.
Other than that you guys can all spout off about who the tougher country is or whatever other little stupid ass barbs you want to throw at each other but the fact is none of you would enjoy the lives you now lead without BOTH countries creating an alliance many years before you. I would hazard to guess that none of you Bulldog, Freeze, Scott, or any of you saw battle first hand in WWII or any other war for that matter. Nor do I believe any of you are in a position to say what the present would be had the past not happened the way it did. So please, be patriotic to flag, country, and freedom all you want, but leave the tough guy crap to the people that have donned fatigues and full metal jackets in the name of freedom as we sleep in peace.

Stewy, I appologise if I offended you and the comment made about Japanesse and raw fish. You are correct it was below the belt.

However, I know two wrongs don't make a right but I am sick and tired of People be littling my country that my father, grand father and great grand father fought for.

Look back before my post on the Japanesse quote and you will see one of your beloved Americans "Dr Freeze" or "Scott Atlanta" make the comment, saying us British would be reading the Mein Kampf....

By you not mentioning this I will take it that you clearly feel the same way, so it's clear it's right for you and others to make dis-tasteful remarks about other countries, yet when it's directed at you and others on here the  starts.

think we can say whatever we want FDC....my gramps fought the Japs and earned a bronze star in doing so.......and he says the same thing i do though he doesn't talk about it as much....

just because you haven't fought in a war doesn't disqualify you from having an opinion about it....

bulldog you slammed our FBI first.....don't really appreciate all the anti American sentiment going around seeing as we all over the world trying to round up these rascals and aren't getting much help in doing it....and these people are a worldwide threat in the Phillipines to Italy to anywhere...

all this shit about getting tough just makes things worse...well what are we supposed to do...let Al Quaeda do whatever they want?....heck no, we are getting tough and we have those bastards on the run....you win wars when you get tough....unfortunately there are going to be some mistakes made but those mistakes will be rectified when we find out they are mistakes....and yes the FBI i am sure feels bad about it....yes they are in some turmoil but that has been the result of bad leadership....suing them just hurts the whole country of the US...so when you sue the FBI, you sue the people of our country....because we pay for the FBI....so you just came on here saying that you wanted to sue the American taxpayer....that is where the buck stops eventually....

so you should be able to see where i might get upset.....

and no i don't take any offense that we might ahve been eating sushi....thought it was funny myself and yes that was a possibility but fortunately we are a country of fighters my gramps being one of them and also thinkers and we put an end to the Japanese uprising....

right now all the Euros and Brits and everyone else for that matter should realize that the US is serious about things and we are going to hunt down these bastards and if we get the wrong guy for every thousand people we capture (we now have over 1000 Al Quaeda and associates locked away) and he gets detained for a little while that is better than a building being blown to bits in New York, London, or anwhere for that matter

I do recall you have a crickett game similiar to baseball. Isnt that the game where you wear the funny pants?

I dont think I insulted your prime minister. I lauded him for standing up for what is right. Now where are the rest of Great Britians people to stand behind Blair ?

Prince Charles does have kinda big ears though. Hope this doesnt send crooky into a rampage.

wareagle LMAO

The great part of this capture is that Al qaeda doesn't know what this guy is going to say so all operations must end and locations change. It REALLY throws a monkey wrench in the works for those animals :thefinger :thefinger

It would appear that you still don't read threads Dr Freeze. The british man detained by FBI had F.A. to do with terriorism.

So to detain a man for 10 days without finger printing him or questioning him sucks.

As I said he was atleast 15 years older than the wanted man and weighed 40lb less aswell. Not only are the F.B.I. incompertant, their blind as well. Much like yourself, because read my first and subsequent threads again. No mention of terriorism on behalf of this bloke or the F.B.I.

Please come over to this country. Give me a call. I'll lock you up for ten days for no reason. See how you like it. Stop looking at it from one angle and approach it from all sides. Serious fraud does not constitute being treated like shit. I hope the F.B.I. pay, if that comes directly from you, so be it. You cannot treat people like this man was treated, at the end of the day he has his rights and is innocent until proven guilty, something that the F.B.I. and yourself fail to see or care for.

It is actions like this that make the World stand up and say, "America the big I am, treat all others like shit".

It was posted on here only the other day the question, why is it or is it true that the rest of the World hate us? I don't hate America, I've enjoyed my many visits to the States. But it is clear that you hate everyone but yourself. You come on here and argue in most threads, which just get's up people's noses. I am sure that both you and Scott Atlanta are related. Both of you like to voice your opinion, and only your opinion counts. Neither of you can contribute in a cival manner without making a sick comment somewhere along the line.

Also Scott, I thought you were leaving this forum because your "lay it all down", went down. But as one comes to expect, you have more hot air that a blimp or a ballon.

We are just debating politics brit.

Things can heat up over politics, religion, and money.

Me and freeze are not relations ( forest gump).

We dont hate you or what you stand for. Its just a confusing time is all. Have you got your duct tape and plastic yet ?

I have my opinion but my mind has been changed many times on here after listening to people like Eddie Haskell and Loophole to name a few.

A sign at a business establishment in Philadelphia, PA:

"WE WOULD RATHER DO BUSINESS WITH 1000 AL QAEDA TERRORISTS THAN WITH A SINGLE AMERICAN"

Doesn't that just make you see red???

This sign was prominently displayed in the window of a business in Philadelphia. You are probably outraged at the thought of such an inflammatory statement. One would think that anti-hate groups from all across the country would be marching on this business... And that the National Guard might have to be called to keep the angry crowds back. But, perhaps in these stressful times one might be tempted to let the proprietors simply make their statement . . . We are a society who holds Freedom of Speech as perhaps our greatest liberty . . . And after all, it is just a sign. You may ask what kind of business would dare post such a sign?

Answer: A Funeral Home

i read exactly what you said....yeah we missed a guy....too bad for him....expecting the FBI or any other agency to be perfect is insanity...

maybe if we got a little more help from other people and didn't have to do everything by ourselves then mistakes such as this would become less frequent....

point is, is that you and others find all the things that go wrong....the very minor exceptions.....

dude we got our pentagon and thWTC center bombed and thousands of lives were lost.....if you think we are not going to go to all measures to make people pay for this and prevent its recurrence, then you are a fool

i said i realize that a mistake was made...everyone does....these things are going to happen when you introduce a thing called "human error" which you brits obviously dont think exists over there.....i am sure he will be fine and there is no need to sue every taxpayer in the US for this unfortunate circumstance....

good grief i thought you brits were supposed to be tough and could endure such hardship....so get your panties out of their wad and grow a sac....be thankful that you have good ol USA watching out for you and enjoy your tea

The Britts took it it the ass while we did nothing for the first year of WWII. We had Pearl they had half there country bombed. The Britts did not lose all there planes. I cant remember who said that here but there wrong. The Spitt Fire was one hell of a plane and helped win the air battle over Britian. The USA took some of the design of the spit fire and used it in the P51. Chit we the USA were behind many countries when war started in Europe in 39. We did a lot of catching up with planes and tanks from 39 to 41.
Even after we got to Europe in 42 our tanks were for chit till we go the new 88's and 100's over there in late 42. It took the might of every man and woman of this country for us to catch up and go ahead of our foes. Chit Germany had rockets and buzz bombs before we even got around to testing any. So thank the Britts for hanging in there till we could get there to help.
Dont chit on your friends guys. The Britts are our friends. And much like our country thet will protest the war. But once it starts that ends and they back there military men and woman. Only reason protest went on so long here during Nam. We let that dam war drag on about 5 years to long.
