According to Tuesday's Daily Mail,a Florida man who was arguing with his wife on Tuesday morning, threatened to shoot the family dog, but ended up fatally shooting himself in the head instead.
The Tampa Bay Times reported that 57-year-old Dennis Eugene Emery of Pinellas Park, was angry over his inability to find a lighter - in the midst of his rant, he picked up a revolver and threatened to shoot one of the family dogs. Somehow, Emery wound up aiming the gun at his own face, rather than at the dog, and the shot which was fired claimed his life.
The deceased man was no stranger to the wrong side of the law - over the past two years, he had dozens of contacts with the police and several pending charges at the time that he died.
Investigators determined that the shooting was likely accidental, rather than intentional.
