Break??????/ Smoke your joint if you want, but dont quit the action!!!! Shit my wife would think Im sick as hell if either of these two situations happen:

I dont talk about a pt spread during a game or covering/non covering cuz of this or that on said game,

OR

I stop pushing life to the edge (fullest) in everything I do....

If either of those things happen on a day, I am sick or I definitely have a "I'm done, put a fork in me" major depression problem.... Hope neither ever happens...

I can imagine how you feel

I can imagine how you feel

Really sorry to see your plight, Mr. L. I guess the answer is maybe "YES". It all depends on how much you'll miss it.

Maybe this will help ya out.... . .

1. Change that dang name. The "L" word means this --> :00x4

2. Find the sport that you are best at and focus on that sport. And check your (or ANYBODY'S) record if you think it's BaseBawl.

3. How bout "stop betting" on weekday football games? Why FORCE yourself to play a menu of one or two stinkin games when every week you can choose from so many games on the menu? IF you just gotta play something on a televised game on a great (Friday) night that you can sit back, pop open a cold one, and not worry about work the next day - just play a tiny fraction on the Fri. (or Thurs) night game. VERY little. Hey, I usually do get to WATCH the weekday games and I enjoy JUST watching them without GAMBLING a penny on the bastages. Just consider it doing your homework, watching how the teams play.

4. Play on paper for awhile and if your capping just keeps failing then see how some of the best cappers do (just on paper). If nuthin else, it may get you thinking that this sport just might be able to beat.

Instead of the very small forum I did post on - I wish I woulda posted, HERE, the plays that I started posting last season at the 10th week and through the Bowls. There's a lot a action on this forum and I sure would have gotten some attention and had some fun writing back and forth to other MJers. I'm using the same methods this year and it looks like it's working again (NOT as good as last year, but I never expect to put up a 4 week record like that again). As the season progresses it SHOULD just do better and better cause I'll have better (more) data to work with. Visit my thread sometime. AND, I sure as hell ain't the best capper around here.. so maybe you/me CAN beat the game.

5. DON'T go overboard with the plays ($) or any single play cause that leads to that same dude I got pictured above.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do. You CAN enjoy sports without having to have dough riding on the outcome, Mr. L. At least, I hope you can.

I've been betting for thirty years. These bad beats start adding-up and it gets OLD after a while. :chairshot

MM is a great but its hard to be discipline all the time.

Gambling is such a grind. I'm to the point where I want to withdrawl the rest on my bankroll walk down a dark alley at night in Chicago and have someone rob me and take all my money :s1:

How many times have you said, "Maybe it's time to quit gambling" over the past 30 years? Let's face it, it's in your blood, you're not giving it up. Everything evens out in the end. Best of luck tonight!

After a beat like that Im so discouraged

this is the reason I bet 25 bucks a game, gambling should be nothing more than a hobby. Most people lose in the long term, I would say 95% do.

I hope you didn't bet your money for your house payment of car payment, if so you need help and need to quit.

This is the most logical post in this thread.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Very True

Very True

This is the most logical post in this thread.

LUCK IN GAMBLING,(whether it is Poker, horseshoes,tiddly-winks, sports) to me is the biggest factor...you can handicap all you want.

But you still need to be on the "right side".
Managed bankroll is fine you win some you lose some, but the juice continues....check total juice at end of a season.

Over the long haul, I believe to get seriously ahead, sometime in the season, you have to "take a shot" at the book....good size bet
OR if managed bankroll, win a very huge percentage of your $25.00 bets.( Hard to do consistently)

I have gotten to the point, it is more of a hobby, I look at all the time over the years wasted watching pointless Thursday nite games with second or third tier schools playing for a paycheck.

I am financially secure enuff that the money I send to some faraway Carribean Address , is "fun money"

Nice to win, but hardly Earth shaking if I lose.

Don't get caught up in paying off a new car or mortgage thru Gambling. with extremely rare exceptions, you will only have your heart broken.
