I have had dryer for about 6 years- got it used from family friends who had it probably since the early 2000's or even 1990's......
it has been great for the first 5.5 years- the last 6 months however it has had an awful screeching/squealing noise
I took the whole damn thing apart (should have researched more) and tried seeing what the problem was
I would like to preface the rest of this text by stating that I do not know a damn thing about dryers....but I am usually pretty handy with shit so wanted to give it a go prior to paying someone else to look at it
so I took it apart and it seemed like I convinced myself I knew what I was doing......so I replaced the rollers and gave a nice wd-40 bath to the rest
after finishing, I put the whole appliance back together- started the dryer and it was perfect- no sounds being made
BUT- the dryer cylinder wasn't spinning- which is why I hear no noise- I had put the front bulk head back on just as it was- also had everything else back exactly how it was and it at least appeared as everything was back together-
I have no clue what I did wrong in the re-assembly process and have taken it apart twice more now trying to figure what is wrong- again, the motor turns on but no movement inside-
What did I do wrong? what pieces did I misplace or happen to drop/lose that would cause this>\???
the idler pulley is good that is the first thing I found online.....but I cannot find any other answers?
time for a new dryer?
I am befuddled and filthy in sweat and dirt and about to give up.
thanks in advance if anyone knows anything about these things
