Went through the drive-thru today for lunch. First thing I hear at the speaker:
"Welcome to McDonalds, today we are featuring the Big Mac, go ahead with your order."
I asked, "What's the Big Mac special?"
The lady came back, "There's no special........the Big Mac is just the feature item today."
I placed my order, and drove ahead.
At the window, I again asked the lady, "Why mention that, if you aren't having a special?" She told me it was just the featured item that day.
I then said, "You feature it every day."
Isn't that what the menu is for? On the way home, I thought about this tactic, and it's actually prabably a pretty smart twist on the "would you like to try" suggestive sales technique this company forces their employees to use.
The thought being: How many people "assume" there is a special going on with the sammy mentioned? Sure, it's their own fault, but I'll bet it sells more than just doing it the old way!

Carry on, mighty food giant.
