There is no Sheriff that will assist you to get back property you already installed. That is the purpose of the Courts or a mechanics lien.

If you call the Sheriff and he says "ok, ill meet you" All she has to do is say "he owes me money". Its not his job to decide who is in the right, thank god.

Send her a nasty letter and give her 10 days to pay you the costs and some juice, attorney fees. If she doesnt pay file lien for said costs and juice.

Go with the mechanic's lein - because it is not difficult in terms of effort by you to do. Do it and then just forget about it.
It will only ever come into play a few years down the road when she tries to sell her home, and then she will look back on this day and curse your name pretty fucking good.

Care to bet on the Sheriff not being helpful? 2 years ago one of them helped a private citizen foreclose on a Bank of America branch because they screwed him over.

You care to bet on that Hedman, not only have I done it but I would be happy to give you the number to the Wise County Sheriff's property assist dispatcher and you can ask her if God has called to voice his disapproval.

JUDGEMENT!!! Homeowner already went to Court. Cant skip that important step. You cant take an invoice or contract to a sheriff and say enforce this. Judge has to decide who is right and then with a JUDGEMENT you can have it enforced. You skipped quite a few steps, so yeah Ill still take that bet that Jack cant go get his concrete back with his unpaid invoice and the consumer who has a bitch about his performance of his part of the contract.

Id bet you any amount of money that you want in Texas where you live that I could make a contract with you for any amount of money for lets say doughnuts and you drop off $10,000 worth of doughnuts at Hedgys house. I dont pay you within the terms of our agreement/contract. You call a sheriff to come help you get whats left and show up at Hedgys door and I say tough shit when he dropped off the doughnuts he broke my siding which is worth $15,000 and he actually owes me $5,000. You really think a sheriff will decide right then and there who is in the right. It's not about the receipt. It is about the transfer of ownership. Right now she owns the property. Jack has recourse, but he cant go take his shit back without a JUDGEMENT to do so. Otherwise, as I said earlier that is all sheriffs would be doing because contractors and subcontractors get stiffed on a monthly basis. Fuck every new house in this world would have shit repossessed by a pissed off sub, who didnt get paid in time. He Barney Fife I have the receipt for that siding and I also installed the furnace let me get it out I wasnt paid. Shit doesnt work that way. Get a JUDGEMENT or get LIEN. You cant skip steps.

First of all, FUCK YOU, I do know what the fuck I am talking about and actually represented, yes as an ATTORNEY a heating and air vac business from 2003-2007, and did SEVERAL mechanic liens for non-payment.

Anywho, I'll make you a wager. Let's convince JAck to try your extortion/ownership way for the drain cover and concrete and if he gets the drain cover and concrete back I'll pay you $2,500.

If he doesnt you pay Jack the money he is out from this bitch. There is no way in hell she would let him get on her property to take anything of hers without a JUDGEMENT. Of course he has receipts he had to buy the products to fulfill his part of the contract. He performed, she hasnt, he can sue or lien, but he cant go get his shit back without a judgement, thats the final answer.

what does the receipt prove other than a drain was bought? is the sheriff an expert on pool drains and can determine what is what? couldnt the receipt easily be from another job if jack were installing multiple drains? the lady sounds like a cunt but it seems pretty crazy to think you can take a receipt to a sheriff and he can just let you go repo your shit. surely there has to be a bit more proof required?

No it was delivered to her house where his workers installed it and he has the receipt with his credit card number on it. Possession is still retained by the owner of the item not who's property it is on.

She is withholding final payment for a reason, may be a fucked up reason but a reason. The Sheriff will not play Judge Judy and decide who is right and who is wrong and fuck up the situation further. They dont have the authority to make these decisions. If it is clear it is stolen sure, here it is not. she did not steal the drain cover out of his truck, she hired him to put it in, like I bought the car, then she fucked him out of a final payment, like if I said you dropped the car off and it was dented and I didnt pay the final $500 of the $1500 I owed you, I still own the car and title, its on you to proof you didnt fuck it up and I still owe you the $500.

Take me up on my bet, I have nothing to win, only lose $2500 to you.
