There is no bigger skeptic when talking tiger football than me. every year i say this team will be a dissapointment, and every year i am right. apparently i was wrong about this year. i have no clue as to how we are beating l'ville this bad at their place. not trying to rub it in on the cards, but this is a heck of a win for memphis. especially when all of these better teams are leaving the conference for the big east. anyway, big day for the tigers. i hope in the future this type of win will be expected rather than being a suprise.

new awlins boud if we get that bowl chief !!!! i told my wife a week ago a trip to NO was a sure thing if the tigers get invited. i think memphis would bring 30,000 to that game. agree or not ?

i haven't been to NO since the raiders beat the saints a couple of years ago, and would love to go back.

Elvis, congrads on your Memphis tigers.Somtimes when your a graduate of the school or a fan you look at your team differently then anyone else. You've seen how bad they are and kinda expect the worse. You get into the "head scratching"theory."How the hell are they doing this"."I know this team better then anybody"
But Memphis has done a great job this yr.Tommy West has put together a solid team.Your Def. coord. is one of the best.I don't know his name. He'll be leaving for a head job someplace.
The bad news Elvis, is that if your go to Nawleans bowling your Tigers are in real trouble.
Because they will meet the "Mean Green" of North Texas.I know you guys have 2 more games left so I don't want to jinx you.I think NT clinched its spot.
In 1969 I went to the North Texas-Memphis football game in memphis.I remember the horseshoe or butterfly stad.I don't remember anything else.I think we won but we started drinking 2 miles out of Denton.
Memphis was in the Missour Valley.I remember Larry Finch,Larry Kennon[Dr K]......
But if your tigers do go bowling vs my NT I'm ready for a nice side bet with you.I'll bet a t-shirt or hat. keep in touch

Folks if you read the memphis paper gomemphis.com i states a scenario where the TCU goes BCS and memphis playing in the liberty bowl. my buddy steve erheart will do anything in his power to make this a reality. i cannot believe that we are dicussing which bowl the tigers will go to!

GO TIGERS GO

I knew Memphis had something a little special this year from the moment they beat Ole Miss. Rebs didn't play badly that game, but Tigers played real good. Glad to see they've gone on to have a successful season.

Box, DC at Memphis is Joe Lee Dunn, formerly of Miss St (their defense really improved without him, didn't it?) I don't think he is head coach material, primarily based on the fact that we can't have a head coach who never wears socks:)

joe lee needs to be a def cord. definetely not head coach material.

war eagle, i have heard memphis wants the liberty bowl, but i don't see how they can get it. i don't know all the rules so help me out. if tcu goes bcs wouldn't the soth miss go to the liberty bowl as the #2 team in conf usa ? just asking.

reb, you guys are having a special season as well. gl and how do you feel about your game w/lsu ?

what do you guys think

what do you guys think

about memphis laying a big 11 to cincy this week?......ciny`s a bit down......but,that`s a substantial lay sfter such a big road win...could this be a bad spot?.....i see everybody`s talking bowl already......if the fans are,you know the players are....and although on a roll, there have been several klunkers thrown in there(uab).....

interested in your take this week....

Got to give Joe Lee credit. His defense outscored Louisville's offense 9-7. Head coach material? Don't know. I hope he doesn't bail any time soon. Calipari gets contract extension? How about West? How about giving ALL the assistants and coordinators raises and extesions? We CANNOT afford to have the type of assistant turnover we have had in the past. We need to pour money into the football program like we never have before, and we need to do it NOW!

Memphis should crush cincy, but you really never know for sure. If it rains this weekend, I'm going to the Memphis-Cincy game. If it is sunny and nice, I'm going to the Ole Miss-LSU game.

Not sure about the liberty bowl. Do they "have to" pick the 2nd place team, or can they pick a team that will draw a bigger crowd? (Memphis of course)

Good luck this weekend boys.

i realized today that they do not have to pick the #2 team if the #1 team goes to bcs. however, i am not convinced that the tcu will beat the so miss team. tcu could have easily lost to louisville.

...as for this week, I'd agree with elvis, this is a prime let-down spot for the tigers.... they've wrapped up (hopefully) their 1st bowl bid in 30+ years and cincy is not near as bad as they've looked the last 2 weeks.... i'd be careful with the tigers this week.

...ya got to love Joe Lee.... If he were going to get a head job (I doubt he ever will, as he's just not really cut out for it...as far as the recruiting and media goes.), I'd like to see him get the head job at memphis.... I really doubt that would ever happen, but that's where he started and I'd like to see him finish up there.... ;)

...as tothe bowl game, I was under the same impression that elvis was under, I thought that if TCU gets a BCS bid (...and I don't thinkthat they will because I think that So. Miss will beat them out right this week in the dirtbowl....), that they'd go to a head-to-head and So. Miss would get the bid to the Liberty Bowl, but I could be wrong.... I think that for the fans, I'd rather see them go to Nawleans, but much like Box, I might have to fade Memphis or pass depending on the number....

Go TIGERS!!!! :D

...depending on the number, I might also be interested in a side bet for a lid for shits and giggles. :D

as a fan who can travel, i want the game in NO. casino is right down town :) i don't care to stay here. i have been to the liberty bowl several times. maybe i will go to ft. worth:shrug:

will not go to mobile unless the wife really persuades me.;)

if tcu loses this week than the tigers travel. if tcu wins and gets to the bcs game, than memphis will get the invite to the liberty bowl.

it is early and i need the tigers to win there last two to prove they are really a good team. rather than an up & down team as in years past.
