It was an unguarded comment that may have strayed close to the truth: Britain?s Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks said he believes tensions over Iran were behind the Israel-Gaza violence.

That remark ? made in a radio studio when he thought he was off the air ? echoes a theory that Tehran?s fingerprints are all over the current escalation of violence.

Realizing that he was actually live on air, Sacks did not elaborate on his theory but Western intelligence agencies and the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) do agree that longer-range rockets being fired toward Tel Aviv are Iranian-manufactured Fajr-5 missiles.

The Fajr-5s are assembled locally after being shipped from Iran via Egypt?s Sinai region from where they are smuggled into Gaza through tunnels, the IDF says on its own public information site.
......................................................................

Ok so Iran has links to this rocket barrage.

Lets think about it for a minute

Isreal rattling war drums to halt Iran nuke program

Time is getting close for Iran to have a nuke.

Lets see if Iran starts a barrage on Israel aint that saying look... if you do attack us, this is what is in store for you including Tel Avi

So go ahead and bomb us

Not only will Hamas be fireing rockets but there will be rockets coming from other countrys you dont even know about yet.

Its pretty plain to see the effort is on to change Israels mind about attacking Iran.

Keep them busy and send a message.

CAIRO ? While holding itself out as an honest broker for truce talks between Israel and Hamas over the Gaza conflict, Egypt?s new government sought on Monday to plunge into the battle over international public opinion on behalf of the Palestinian cause ? an arena where the Israelis, more experienced in the world of the free press and democratic politics, have historically dominated.

In Egypt?s most concerted effort to win more global public support for the Palestinians, advisers to Egypt?s President Mohamed Morsi, a former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who has been an outspoken supporter of Hamas, invited foreign correspondents in Cairo to a background briefing at which a senior Egyptian official sought to blame Israel for the conflict while at the same time maintaining Egypt?s role as an intermediary pressing both sides for peace. ?We are against any bloodshed,? the official said repeatedly, arguing that Egypt sought stability and individual freedom for all in the region.

Speaking on condition of anonymity to avoid upsetting the talks with the Israelis, the Egyptian official argued that the West, which supports Israel?s right to defend itself against rocket attacks from Gaza, was essentially blaming the victim.

?It is so strange people are talking about the rights of self-defense,? he said. ?The self-defense of whom? Of the occupied people? Of the besieged people? Of the hurt people? No, the self-defense of the most powerful state in the region and the self-defense of the occupying force of Gaza and Palestine. This is what some of the international community are talking about.?

He implicitly compared the leaders of Hamas to George Washington in America or Charles de Gaulle in France: Heros because they resisted foreign occupation by armed force. ?Now, there is an occupation going on for decades and these people who are suffering this occupation are trying to resist, are trying to gain their rights,? the official said. ?But we are saying no, they don?t have the rights, they have to stay calm, be killed, be occupied, be besieged, and the self-defense is the right of the occupier.?

The official called this ?a huge manifestation of double standards that we will not allow.?

He argued that there was ?no comparison? between the level of force used by both sides, and that the Western media had wrongly adopted Israel?s use of the term ?rockets? to describe Hamas missiles that were better described as primitive ?projectiles.? And he compared the Israeli killing of the top Hamas military official, Ahmed al-Jabari, which in Hamas?s view started the battle, to a hypothetical assassination of Israel?s defense minister, Ehud Barak. ?What would be the reaction of the Israelis? Then can you understand the reaction of the other side??

Echoing an account presented by President Morsi, the Egyptian official said that Israel?s killing of Mr. Jabari had broken an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire agreement that both sides had accepted the day before Mr. Jabari was targeted.

The Egyptian official said that Mr. Morsi had asked President Obama to help press Israel to agree to a cease-fire, while Mr. Obama in turn had encouraged Mr. Morsi to work on both the Israelis and the Palestinians, since Egypt was already in contact with both sides. The Morsi administration appreciated President Obama?s efforts, the official said, though he added: ?We differ on the blame issue, because the blame should not be directed toward the Palestinians in Gaza; the blame should be directed toward the occupation.?

In a sign of the Egyptian government?s inexperience at such public-relations campaigns, the official sought to reinforce his points by distributing a handout printed from the Internet, where it had circulated widely without clear authorship. It was titled "10 things you need to know about Gaza," with headings like ?Prison Camp? and ?(Un) fair fight.?

Iran is supplying weapons to Hamas? So what? The USA is supplying more, and far more lethal weapons to Israel.

If Israel, which was created by taking land away from Palestine by force, had made some attempt to get along with other nations, maybe there would be peace.

Instead, Israel took additional land by force.

So.....Palestinians are pissed off? wouldn't YOU be?

We need to stop sending weapons and money to Israel. Then, maybe, they'll make piece with their neighbors, give back the land they took by force, ad the wars will stop.

As long as Israel has a get-home-free card from the USA, they'll never stop.

Tramp's right. The meanest street cur dog is a more honest and honorable species than most any human.

Homo sapiens is a dead end species. Our greed and love of killing is unparallelled.

A hundred years from now we will have wiped ourselves off the face of the earth. Buh-bye Bubba and Einstein.

The Bison and Antelope will return to the Great Plains, Elephants and Tigers will recover from the wanton killing by humans and all will be well on planet Earth.

My only regret is that won't get to see Earth in it's glorious balance. Ah, well.

As we read the headlines everyday, and observe the conflicts that take place in Israel, we hear terms such as ?Israeli Occupation?, ?Palestinian statehood?, and ?Palestinian homeland?.

Many world leaders feel that the only resolution to the fighting in Israel and the Palestinian terrorist attacks, is to establish an independent Palestinian state (nation).

In order to develop a better understanding of these terms, it?s important to know some of the history of the area.

I want to share with you a brief overview of the area?s recent history.

1917-1922: From 1517-1917 Turkey's Ottoman Empire controlled what is today Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine.

During World War I (1914-1918), Turkey supported Germany.

When Germany was defeated, so were the Turks.

In 1916 control of the southern portion of their Ottoman Empire was "mandated" to France and Britain under the Sykes-Picot Agreement, which divided the Arab region into zones of influence.

Lebanon and Syria were assigned to France... and "Palestine" (today's Jordan, Israel and "West Bank") was assigned to Great Britain.

It is important to mention that ?Palestine? is a name that was coined by the Europeans.

It did not exist before this point
.

Because no other group of people had ever established a national homeland here since the Jews had done it 2,000 years before, the British "looked favorably" upon the creation of a Jewish National Homeland throughout all of Palestine.

The Jews had already begun mass immigration into Palestine in the 1880's in an effort to rid the land of swamps and malaria and prepare the rebirth of Israel.

This Jewish effort to revitalize the land attracted an equally large immigration of Arabs from neighboring areas, who were drawn by employment opportunities and healthier living conditions.

1923-1947: In 1923, the British divided Palestine into two administrative districts.

Jews would be permitted only west of the Jordan River.

The British had allocated 75% of the originally proposed Jewish Palestinian homeland to lay the seeds of what would become in 1946 the Arab Palestinian Nation of "Trans-Jordan," meaning: "across the Jordan River."

The Palestinian Arabs now had their "Arab Palestinian" homeland.

The remaining 25% of Palestine (now WEST of the Jordan River) was to be the Jewish Palestinian homeland.

However, the Arab population was determined to claim all of Palestine for itself, and wanted to ?drive the Jews into the sea.?

Encouraged and incited by growing Arab nationalism throughout the Middle East, the Arabs of that small remaining Palestinian territory west of the Jordan River launched incessant terrorist attacks upon the Jewish Palestinians in an effort to drive them out.

The British at first tried to maintain order but soon (due to the large oil deposits being discovered throughout the Arab Middle East) turned a blind eye.

It became obvious to the Palestinian Jews that they must fight the Arabs AND drive out the British.

1947-1948: The Palestinian Jews, forced to form an organized defense against the Arabs, formed the Hagana, the beginnings of the Israeli Defense Forces [IDF].

There was also a Jewish underground called the Irgun, led by Menachem Begin (who later became Prime Minister of Israel).

Besides fighting the Arabs, the Irgun was instrumental in driving out the pro-Arab British.

Finally, in 1947 the British turned the Palestine matter over to the United Nations.

The U.N. Resolution 181 partition plan was to divide the remaining 25% of Palestine into a Jewish Palestinian State and a second Arab Palestinian State (Trans-Jordan being the first) based upon population concentration.

The Jewish Palestinians accepted the proposal, but the Arab Palestinians rejected it.

The Arabs still wanted ALL of Palestine - both east and west of the Jordan River.

On May 14, 1948 the Palestinian Jews finally declared their own State of Israel and became "Israelis."

On the next day, Israel was at war with seven neighboring Arab armies: Egypt, Trans-Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Yemen.

Most of the Arabs living within the boundaries of the newly declared "ISRAEL" were encouraged to leave by the invading Arab armies to facilitate the slaughter of the Jews and were promised to be given all Jewish property after the victorious Arab armies won the war.

When the 19-month war ended, however, Israel won and survived, despite a 1% loss of it's entire population.

Those Arabs who did not run away became today's Israeli Arab citizens.

Those who fled became the seeds of the first wave of "Palestinian Arab refugees."

1949-1967: The end result of the 1948-49 Israeli War of Independence was the creation of a Jewish state slightly larger than that which was proposed by the United Nations two years before.

What remained of that almost-created second Arab Palestinian State was occupied by Egypt (occupying the Gaza Strip) and by Trans-Jordan (occupying Judea-Samaria (the "West Bank" of the Jordan River) and Jerusalem.

In the next year (1950) Trans-Jordan formally merged this West Bank territory into itself and granted Jordanian citizenship to all those Arabs who lived there.

Since Trans-Jordan was no longer confined to one side of the Jordan River, it renamed itself simply "JORDAN.

In the final analysis, the Arabs of Palestine ended up with nearly 85% of the original territory of Palestine.

But that was still not 100% and thus the conflict between Arab and Jew for "Palestine" would continue through four more wars and continuous Arab terrorist attacks upon the Israeli citizens. It continues to this very day.

From 1948-67 when all of Judea-Samaria (the West Bank, including Jerusalem) came under Arab [Jordanian] control, no effort was made to create a second Palestinian State for the Arabs living there.

It seems ironic that Yassir Arafat and his Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), discovered their "ancient" identity and a need for "self-determination" on this very same West Bank ONLY AFTER Israel regained this territory (three years later in 1967) following Jordan's attempt to destroy Israel.

Why was no request ever made upon King Hussein of Jordan when he "occupied" the West Bank?

The PLO later went on to become the Palestinian Authority of today.

The 1967 War (Six-Day War): Throughout much of May 1967, the Egyptian, Jordanian and Syrian armies mobilized along Israel's narrow and seemingly indefensible borders in preparation for a massive invasion to eliminate the State of Israel.

But the Israel planned and executed a perfect pre-emptive strike against Egypt.

Within two hours, the Egyptian Air Force did not exist.

Most of its planes were destroyed while still on the runways!

Unaware that the Egyptians had no more air force, King Hussein of Jordan, launched his attack from the West Bank into Israel's belly while Syrian troops prepared to descend down the Golan Heights mountain range into northern Israel.

After ONLY six days grueling warfare, Israel defeated all three Arab armies along three separate fronts, taking control of the entire Sinai Desert from Egypt, the Golan Heights from Syria and the West Bank (including East Jerusalem and its Old City) from Jordan.

Most importantly was the return to Israel of its holy 3,000-year-old city of Jerusalem along the western edge of the West Bank.

Unfortunately, Israel then became an "occupier" of this "West Bank" and the Gaza Strip along with its 850,000 Palestinian Arabs who were living there.

These Arabs would refer to themselves as "refugees" and joined the masses of refugees from the previous war of 1948-49.

The Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza Strip were packed and ready to leave following their defeat.

Suddenly the victorious IDF General Moshe Dayan persuaded them to stay.

Dayan's plan was to educate them, offer them modern medical treatment, provide them with employment both in the West Bank AND inside Israel Proper, and to live amongst them in hopes of building a bridge to the Arab world.

1982: Israel wanted to gain some international respect, and therefore returned the entire Sinai (oil fields, air bases and endless miles of security buffer) to Egypt.

Israel still occupies Syria's Golan Heights, which had been used solely for terrorist incursions into and artillery bombardment upon Israel's northern settlements.

And of course, Israel still occupies the West Bank with its population of 1,200,000 "Palestinian" Arabs.

PRESENT DAY: When you hear news reports that talk about ?Israeli occupation of the Palestinian homeland?, I hope you?ll be able to put that spin in the context of that area?s history.

In my mind, the only reason Israel still exists, is because of the special covenant God made with her.

Be watchful.

It seems that prophecy is being fulfilled rapidly in that area.

Yet at the same time, remember that none of us knows the day or hour of our Lord?s return.

When we are caught up to be with Him, it will be a day beyond our wildest imaginations.

We may have to go through some trials and tribulations before that occurs, but it will be temporary.

Therefore, when you realize that time may be running down, think of those of your friend who still do not know Jesus as there personal savior.

Use the time you have left to spread His word, and let people know the reason for the hope you have within you.

Comment is free It's Palestinians who have the right to defend themselves....

A very good article from Seumas Milne: "Despite Israel's withdrawal of settlements and bases in 2005, the Gaza Strip remains occupied, both effectively and legally ? and is recognised as such by the UN. Israel is in control of Gaza's land and sea borders, territorial waters and natural resources, airspace, power supply and telecommunications. It has blockaded the strip since Hamas took over in 2006-7, preventing the movement of people, materials, and food supplies in and out of the territory."

To portray Israel as some kind of victim with every right to "defend itself" from attack from "outside its borders" is a grotesque inversion of reality. Israel has after all been in illegal occupation of both the West Bank and Gaza, where most of the population are the families of refugees who were driven out of what is now Israel in 1948, for the past 45 years.

Blame Bush, Blame Romney, Blame the Tea Party and now blame Israel. That sounds like the platform fat ass hillary will run on in 2016. Just hope Obama gets his way with everything so there is no one to blame. Maybe when he is through saving our country he can move to Africa and fix that continent. I predict he will be the head of the UN by 2018. Will Michelle get her clothing allowance if he takes that job?

Israelis not a democracy despite the spin . They are a religious nation just like Iran. It is for religious Israeli that they push age old Palestinians off their land to establish right wing control of Israeli and the bad treatment of the people in Gaza and the West Bank leave them with no hope unless they suck up to Hamas.
Why is it if Iran supports terrorist they are not allowed to get nuke weapons. But Israeli is a religious government whom supports terror of both Gaza and the West Bank .So Why does the USA foolish support the radical Jews?
It is because the Israel lobby control the entire USA foreign policy . Which is by the way a clear volition of church and state. And since of coming budget cuts. We tax payers should demand that all aid including military aid to Israeli be cut ASAP., and all those in the Israeli lobby including traitor members of congress have all their propriety and assets seized and then ship them to Gaza .

WASHINGTON -- Israel and Hamas have agreed to a cease-fire in the week-old conflagration in Gaza that has left more than a hundred dead and many more wounded.

The halt in hostilities was announced during a Wednesday press conference in Cairo, Egypt, by the Egyptian foreign minister Mohammed Kamel Amr. He was joined by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who has spent the past 18 hours engaged in a whirlwind tour of diplomacy in a hasty attempt to reach a peace deal.

The cease-fire is set to take effect at 9 p.m. Cairo time, or 2 p.m. EST. More than 140 Palestinians, and five Israelis, have been killed in the conflict, which was almost entirely conducted by airstrike, rocket and drone.

Egyptian mediators told Reuters that Hamas believes it has won "guarantees" from the Israeli government to stop assassinating its leaders, and to ease the way for Palestinians to move across the borders of the Gaza Strip. Israelis say that if the rocket fire from Gaza does not stop, they hold the right to redouble their military strikes in the future.

The brokered deal appears to be a major diplomatic coup for the U.S. and for Egypt, whose role in the Middle East has been in question ever since a revolution led to the rise of an Islamist government more sympathetic to Hamas.

For the U.S., the resolution, at least temporarily, of the conflict marks a signature achievement in the early moments of President Barack Obama's second term.

Clinton and her pimp husband are hated in Arkansas. She had to move to NYto get into he senate. She or Obama caused the deaths of 4 brave Americans. One of them is to blame. The MSM refuses to dig ino the facts. Even Bob Woodard thinks someone is lying.
