Pretty awesome. I remember you posting pictures about a year or so ago......

You are correct sir! I went to his wedding in Missouri back in November. He is ready to bring it to the Big Show this year!

Where it is real F ing COLD
Tide, is he a K Machine for a late round pick in Fantisy Baseball Leagues?

I know this was for Tide but what I have heard from people on the KFAN is that Gibson does not have much chance of getting many innings with the Twins this year for 2 reasons..

1. They need him to get innings and even though he would be the third starter already those spots are for what they have already.

2. And this is the biggest reason... If he pitches so many innings this year in the Bigs then the Twins lose a year of arbitration with him. Sucks that it comes to economics instead of talent but that is the way it is I guess

There's definitely a buzz about this kid up here now. The story we hear is that he'll be brought up later in the season, after more time at AAA (which the story said, too). Evidently they envision him as a starter, and he could certainly get a shot if one or more of the starters falter or get injured - which has happened repeatedly with our starters. It's a very good staff, but plenty of question marks. We'll have a very different bullpen this season, hopefully as good or better. I hope they keep him on track to be a starter, sounds like that's his makeup.

A healthy Gibson could be one of the fastest risers in the 2009 Draft class. The Missouri ace fell to 22nd overall in the Draft due to a stress fracture in his pitching arm, but the Twins took him and let him rehab with them. He took the mound during instructional league, and they think, as soon as he gets his reps, he could make a quick name for himself. He has good mechanics and command of a sinking fastball around 90, a plus slider and a changeup that is his out pitch.

Keith Law has him at #32. That MLB list is never a good one.

Thanks my friend. Here is the write-up:

Gibson is not the exciting top-of-the-rotation type of arm that most pitchers this high on the list represent, but he is extremely high-probability and could pitch above the level of his stuff because of his command and feel. He will show three solid-average pitches most nights and pounds the strike zone with all three. His fastball tops out at 94 mph or so, but his slider flashes above average and he can get ground balls with both pitches, keeping the ball out of the air on 57 percent of balls he allowed in play in 2010.

Gibson is tall and still looks like he could pack some weight on his shoulders, perhaps adding a mile an hour or two to the fastball, and his arm action is easy and repeatable, which probably explains a lot of his above-average command and control. He is a midrotation starter with a No. 2 ceiling but is so close to major league-ready that he should get the call in 2011 and could have an effect down the stretch.
