Yeah, you can't strand that many runners and expect to win the game, I'd be surprised if they get another base runner in the next two innings. Why do I even bother touching day games. :nono:

i understand santana has been lights out lately but i dont care if jesus christ puts the spikes on and takes the mound against beckett, i cant justify such a quality pitcher being a 3/2 home dog. twins lineup has never faced him before, save castillo. win or lose, ill make this play every day of the week. the best pitcher in the league against a kid who is probably somewhere in the top 5-7. chalk is just too much.

just one thing, Beckett is not a top 5-7 pitcher...just cuz he had one phenomonal post season against the Yankees, people started labeling him as a top pitcher, I just don't see it tho...gl on the play tho...

obviously we differ on opinions, but one thing ive never been is media-influenced. i felt he was a top 10 pitcher long before he beat the yankees in the postseason. if florida could have kept the rotation of beckett-burnett-penny together, theyd be unreal right now. he's been inconsistent, but there arent more than 5 pitchers in the majors with better pure stuff than beckett. that doesnt mean he is going to win every time out. far from it. and hes gotten hit hard at times with the sox. but when hes locked in, he makes guys look silly with 97-98 fastball and a curve to go with it.

good call G...looks like this one is in the bag for you...and Beckett does look like a top 5 pitcher today...
If were talking about top 5 pitchers with the nastiest stuff, sure Beckett is in there, and so is Burnett. Just because once every 5-6 games they dominate doesn't make them a top 5 pitcher in the league. There both not nearly consistent enough to be top pitchers. Beckett is over-rated, and so is Burnett.
