I bought this service last month and I do like it, except for one thing: blackouts. Apparently, I am in the Indians, Reds, and Pirates markets so i can't watch their games on the computer. I get the Reds and Indians being blacked out, because both are shown on TV. But the Pirates? I am not able to watch them if I wanted to since they are not shown on my Direct TV package, nor can I watch them on this pay service (MLB.tv). That means that at any given time, I could be blocked from watching about 20% of the teams (3 teams blcked out plus whoever they are playing). That is crazy. I asked for a 20% discount since I can't watch 20% of the teams (just to make a point) but I knew that wasn't going to happen.

Anyone else ever have this issue? I have called to bitch about it but it sounds like there is legally nothing that can be done.

I'm not sure if it is still the case, but a couple years ago, if you lived in Iowa -- a state without a MLB team -- you would be blacked out for six teams: Cubs, White Sox, Twins, Brewers, Royals, Cardinals. It's ludicrous.

I have had the package for a few years now, live in central NJ and I am blacked out of NYY and NYM (plus that Saturday FOX crap), surprised that you are blacked out of 3 teams (and now surprised that I am not blacked out of PHL games)...have had a few problems, but overall love it, and now I have it on my I-phone same blackouts, but I have access to the radio broadcasts of ALL games.

That is probably still the case here in Iowa if I had the MLB.TV package, but since I don't, I can't confirm.
I do, however, have Dish network and since MLB won't allow them to carry MLB Network, they show me the Cubs and White Sox (home market on Comcast Sports Network) ALL the Brewers games that are on TV and many Cardinals, Royals and Twins games depending upon who is carrying their games.
As a huge baseball fan, its great being able to see so many games-now I gotta work on staying awake past 9 PM so I can see the end of most of the games...:142smilie

In New Orleans the blacked out teams are astros and rangers. I can understand the Stros, but Arlington is a world away from here(thankfully;))
