Monday Play:

Dodgers

$2000 to win $1250

Yesterday: Lost $1250 on the damn Yankees. Screw that if I'm going to bet $100 a play and try for weeks and weeks to climb back to even again, I either win it all back w/ the Dodgers or I'm done for the baseball season.

I was planning on betting everyday for the rest of the season. But now, damnit, to think it took me 3 months to save over $3000 to get ready for the baseball season and I could lose all my money in only 2 days!!!!
If the Dodgers don't win, I will be broke and have to try to save up another $3000 before the football season starts. I wonder if I qualify for food stamps...anyways..... Wish me luck everyone.

To late, the money is in, I just gotta wait to see what happens. If I don't win, I guess I'll just have to find something else to do with my time during the entire summer until football season comes around.

You're gonna do whatever you decide, but if you listen to some of these guys in here, you'll find yourself on the PLUS SIDE more days than not. We all go through slumps, but losing ONE GAME is not a slump. If you can, cancel your bet and back off your action and let these guys show you HOW to make some $$ out of a hobby.

BTW, thanks in a way. I was gonna be all over the YANKS tonite til I saw your post. It scared me off the game...

as it will probably keep me off the DODGERS too, unless numbers tell me otherwise. I NEVER like seeing "get even" plays by anyone... because I've yet to see an "EVEN" player ever!

34399,

Like Kevin said . . . we have all been there and more times than not we ended up scratching our broke asses when the game was over.

When you handicap a game figure that sheer fickle fate is going to determine the outcome about half the time. Out of 100 games you should win 25 and lose 25 just on luck. Your handicapping should be effective in the other 50 games, but we all make mistakes. If we are right 70% of the time that means we win 35 games from handicapping and 25 from luck. It also means we lose 15 from handicapping errors and lose 25 to Lady Luck. Moneylines skew that somewhat, but the fact remains that sheer fickle fate is going to determine the outcome enough times that to bet the farm on one game is asking to be tapped out.

Here are three sayings that I repeat over and over to myself when I get the desire to do something stupid.

It's harder to drown if you stay in the boat. It's a cinch by the inch, but hard by the yard. And the game never ends when your whole world depends . . . on the turn of a friendly card.

very well Said Never, 34399, i hope your listening to these guys , im new to the forum and have already learned loads of shit on here, the MLB season is so damn long, im sure u worked your ass off to save that $3,000, u dont wanna blow , we've all been down plenty in our days im sure, but gettting even the next day or to chase, is the worst thing u can do. Money does not grow on trees, im here to make my $, not give it away, or i would not be here, i consider this a part time job for myself as long as i am on the plus side, when i get on the neg side, its time to stop take a break and analyze the problem, all im trying to say is cancel that bet if u can.But u do whatever is comfortable for u, im not much of a value player here, i go with who i think will win the game, i started with a $5,000 BR, and usually play 1-3 units per play which is 2-6% of my roll. good luck on your play tonite ...Antonio

34399,

A fool and his money are soon parted!! I say this to my self every time I start to think this is how I'll get myself out of a lossing streak. I know 1 lose is not a streak, but ask yourself this. Do I really want to go the hole summer not betting bases? If so good luck. If not buy the bet back and pace yourself.

Another question. Do you often double up in football when you lose? And if so, how many time has it worked? Look at your own past for answers. Keep track of how you bet and why.

Best of luck to you,
Dude

Man, the bookies eat this kind of stuff up. If you do this on a consistent basis you will bust within a week. Trust me, I was there and I know what I'm talking about.

Does this scenario ring a bell? Down by a lot, put a huge chunk on a "sure win" with Pedro on the hill, his teammates don't score a freaking run for him, he gets taken out in the 6th or 7th and I'm in deep sh*t.

The guy before nailed it on the head,,,LUCK and fate have more to do with winning or losing than anything else. There's no way I will ever put up a ton trying to chase a loss.

BE CAREFUL with the Dodgers today. This is probably not the safest bet to risk your season on. Oliver has been pitching much better, the Rangers offense is waking up again, and Prokopec has been getting hit progressively harder. I have a small bet on the Rangers this game but after seeing this thread, I hope I am wrong. Good Luck, and may fickle fate smile upon you this evening.

Ummm the game hasn't been played how is it a winner?

Oliver looked great his last outting giving up 1 run in 7 innings. And Oliver is 1-1 against LA, along with Prokapec getting slapped around left and right .. in his last 2 games : 20 hits and 11 runs over 11 innings.

I'm sorry but if your gonna lay 2 grand on a game i'de wait till something better came along.... but thats just me

My Man:

BAD MOVE. Back out, or bet 1250 on the Dodgers as well, or surrender the juice if it is a local guy you are playing with.

Wait until tomorrow and play baseball at 50 a unit with me this week. You might also want to research some other guys as well. You will never win like this, and it will not be fun anymore. You must ,as a player do everything you can to even the odds. Varying your unit and trying to play catch up will run up your credit cards, put a bad feeling in your stomach, and depending on your make up and compulsiveness; maybe ruin your life. Take a step back. Play, Broker, Experiment, Study, but never Gamble.

Hope you do the right thing.

Late.

everytime you see a play like this you can kiss your cabbage good bye. when i seen the post yesterday i threw a lil change on atl. not smart to lay it all on one play. say you do win what next all again tomorrow. money management is different for everyone, but by all means play within your limits and never bank on one game. been gambling for 18 years and have manage to survive thru the bad times and have had great stretches too. but never have i once lost all my bank on one play. discipline will take you along way.

vegas wasn't built on winners and these offshore place aren't in business because of losing either. but there are winners and they are the ones who can take the bad days and still manage to play within there means.

From your post it looks like you are looking for a quick bank and you are in the wrong field for that, you will be quickly broke.best advice would be if you win tonight. quit! then get a part time job. gambling on dreams and visions is what a bookie loves because before long the only thing you will have is nightmares. gl to all

On the course!
It took three months to save the money you are wagering, and you are risking 2/3rds of it on one game?

Good luck, son.
