Todd Kimberly of Calgary Herald on injuries:
"Calgary -- C Rob Niedermayer (stomach flu) practised with the team Sunday, and could play tonight. C Scott Nichol (knee), RW Jukka Hentunen (knee), LW Dave Lowry (separated shoulder) and
D Brad Werenka (post-concussion syndrome) are all on IR.
Carolina -- That Weekes trade left the 'Canes down two forwards, and D David Tanabe had been taking shifts on the wing, but when D Aaron Ward injured his arm Friday, the team dipped down to Lowell (AHL) for help. LW Jaroslav Svoboda, the former sniper with the WHL's Kootenay Ice, has been recalled and will play on the fourth line tonight."
and on goaltending, Whitmore called up now:
"with Roman Turek standing a very good chance of playing all 17 remaining regular-season games, now that Mike Vernon has cleared waivers and been demoted to Saint John"
starting goalie for 'Canes is anyone's guess...
