Carolina -- That Weekes trade left the 'Canes down two forwards, and D David Tanabe had been taking shifts on the wing, but when D Aaron Ward injured his arm Friday, the team dipped down to Lowell (AHL) for help. LW Jaroslav Svoboda, the former sniper with the WHL's Kootenay Ice, has been recalled and will play on the fourth line tonight."

"Lindros, who left Saturday's 3-2 OT loss in Pittsburgh early in the third period with a bruised left foot he sustained blocking a shot, was limping at Rye yesterday, and is very iffy for tonight.

"I don't know if it's going to swell up too much for me to get my foot in the boot, and even if I can, if I'm going to have enough strength to push off," he said with a shrug after treatment in the training room. "We'll see."

Blues 2-6-2 last 10, and haven't won since break (0-4-2).

Teams met twice this season, both at Colorado. Blues won 1-0 (10/31), and Ahvs won 3-1 (2/13).

The Blue Jackets recalled goaltender J.F. Labbe from Syracuse (AHL) on Friday because Marc Denis had a strained groin. In 42 games with Syracuse, Labbe posted a 20-14-7 record with a 2.34 goals-against average and .921 save percentage. His six shutouts were leading the league, and he was tied for third in wins and fifth in goals-against average. Labbe might get the call tonight. ?

Coach Brian Sutter says it will be a game time decision whether Alex Zhamnov will play after missing the last two games due to a hip injury. Zhamnov is second in team scoring (19-37=56) and is key on the power play and penalty killing. If he doesn't play tonight, Sutter will not use him tomorrow in Phoenix.....

Coach Sutter has indicated that he will probably alternate goaltenders Jocelyn Thibault (30-18-7) and Steve Passmore (5-3-2) during the trip due to the back-to-back scheduling of the games . The Hawks are 5-4-2 in the first game of back-to-back situations this season, and 5-6-0 in the second

Unbelievable. Now 6 of the last 7 ties at home. My #s were off yesterday I guess.

As a Caps fan, all of CAR ties are really getting frustrating. 24.3% of their points on the year have come from OT ties or losses.
