Has to be a Record!

Has to be a Record!

Seven coaches and five general managers were fired Monday in a flurry of pink slips that were delivered the day after the regular-season ended.

There could be more....... "It's personally crushing to me and it's terrible, but, it is time for the Eagles to move in a new direction." - owner Jeffrey Lurie

Remember this quote; "There's no bigger Jet than me,'' Ryan insisted. ''I want to be the Jets' head coach for the next 15 years"

He got another year

"I don't even know if I want to play again," Hester said. "That's been something on my mind for two years. It's not (much fun for me anymore). I've got my workers comp papers in my pocket. We'll see how I feel. I'm going to go home and talk to my wife and talk to my family and see where we go from there. I got two beautiful kids, man, two boys. A lot of stress has been on my mind lately.

:director:

This is the way 2 go man, Workers Comp?!?

Another hit in head too often  did you or not assume the risk??? A good liar will rip these gals apart.

This is just 1 of maybe many signs of why Coaching isn't part of this game as once known......

Times are a Changin

The statisticians at Football Outsiders have figured out their own formula to forecast which team will emerge victorious in February. They've played out the season 50,000 times using a statistic that "breaks down the entire season play-by-play, comparing success on each play to the league average based on a number of variables including down, distance, location on field, current score gap, quarter, and opponent quality."

Football Outsiders also sees the Broncos as the favorites, giving them a 26.2 percent chance of winning the Super Bowl. The Colts are also the long shot in their eyes with a 0.2 percent chance of winning it all.

Football Outsiders formula (chance of winning Super Bowl XLVII):

Denver Broncos 26.2%
New England Patriots 24.3%
San Francisco 49ers 14.3%

Patriots can't be stopped using Hurry-up! Very important to control pace I don't expect Ravens Marathon last week to be a factor. Ravens come to play. I just don't see anyone stopping this Hurry-up but Patriots themselves!

Last 10 Patriots 8-2 and 6-1 in Foxboro vs. Ravens
2 of those 10 went Over 50 points
Over is 7-1 in Patriots last 8 games in January.

Underdog is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings.

Road team is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings

JUST WIN BABY

Billy Cundiff missed a game-tying 32-yard field goal in the final seconds last year 23-20 Patriot win

The last three matchups have been decided by a total of seven points

Flacco's the only QB in league history to reach the playoffs in each of his first five seasons and has torched the Patriots for 973 yards with seven TDs vs. two interceptions in the last three games.

37-24 Patriots

Vegas didn't hang 9 1/2 points expecting the Patriots to lose. They agree, Patriots won't be stopped using Hurry-up!

Final decision....... SF @ Atlanta

Final decision....... SF @ Atlanta

Hard to imagine Atlanta not learning from the Packers' flawed defensive game plan last week. Green Bay defensive coordinator Dom Capers, inexplicably, called a ton of man-to-man coverage against the 49ers forcing the Packers' secondary to turn its back to Kaepernick, a disastrous and ill- conceived scenario.

The Falcons defensive leader Mike Nolan, who was once the head coach in San Francisco, going 18-37 before being fired in the middle of the 2008 season, is far too smart to commit the same mistakes Capers did and will likely rely on spies with zone behind them to keep Kaepernick from running up his defense's back

Quarterbacks like Kaepernick have given a pedestrian Falcons defense plenty of trouble this season. Carolina's Cam Newton threw for 502 yards with four TDs while rushing for another 202 and two more scores in two games against Atlanta this season while Seattle rookie Russell Wilson passed for a career-high 385 yards with two TDs and added another 60 rushing and a score last week.

The raucous crowd and the fast track at the Georgia Dome should help the Falcons' undersized defense against the powerful Niners offensive line.

San Francisco only has two postseason road wins in franchise history and none since beating Chicago on Jan. 8, 1989. Expect that 24-year drought to continue as the young Kaepernick makes one or two key mistakes at pivotal times.

Falcons 27, 49ers 17

Final decision....... Ravens @ Patriots

Final decision....... Ravens @ Patriots

For the first time in over 25 years the AFC Championship Game will feature a rematch from the previous season.

The two teams have met twice previously in the postseason with each winning a game.

The last thing the Ravens needed on top of all that was a Pats team being fueled by the words of a special-teamer, albeit a very good one. Baltimore special teams star Brendon Ayanbadejo really stepped in it this past weekend when he started talking trash in advance of Sunday's game.

In a series of Tweets, Ayanbadejo called the Patriots' extremely effective up- tempo offense a gimmick, needled them for ultimately failing in their near perfect 18-1 season back in 2007, and even brought Spygate back before finishing up by ripping the organization for releasing wide receiver Tiquan Underwood a day before the Super Bowl last year.

No matter how close this rivalry has been at times, though, more often than not the Patriots have gotten the best of Baltimore when it has counted and New England seems to hold a number of significant advantages going into Sunday's contest.

In AFC title games, New England is an impressive 7-2 and a perfect 4-0 in Foxboro.

By limiting substitutions, Brady puts an incredible strain on the opposition and its ability to handle a plethora of playmakers, like Hernandez, as well as the game's top slot receiver, Welker, outside the numbers threat Brandon Lloyd and running backs Stevan Ridley, Woodhead and Vereen.

"They look to create advantages for themselves, and they do it with tempo a lot of times," Harbaugh said. "It's not just the fact that they go fast sometimes. They force you to line up. Sometimes they'll force the defense to show their hand because you have to defend the play. If you don't, they'll run the play."

Consider this -- since 2010 Flacco has thrown 12 touchdowns versus just two interceptions in the postseason, compiling a 102 passer rating. Over that same span, Brady has tossed 13 TDs with five picks and compiled a 101.5 rating.

"I think the two best teams are in the finals," Brady said. "Baltimore certainly deserves to be here and so do we, so it's very fitting. We played them early in the year. They got us. We're going to have to play our best game this week."

Patriots 24, Ravens 20

The Patriots showed little emotion and seemed to be playing in slow motion

I just don't see anyone stopping this Hurry-up but Patriots themselves! They died???

I don't know why they slowed the pace and probably will never here them talk about. It was probably the end of BB's career.

I give Baltimore defense the Game Ball!

The Falcons,We probably won't be seeing them playing again in January anytime soon.....

San Francisco, which is a perfect 5-0 in the Super Bowl, will be trying to join Pittsburgh as the only teams with six Super Bowl titles. :0003

Baltimore Ravens 14/1
San Francisco 49ers 18/1

Smart money is on Baltimore in this one, early.....My play is the Over.

101 BALTIMORE RAVENS 49.5 49.5 / 49 / 48.5 48 +150
102 SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS -5 -4.5 / -4.5 -05 / -4 -4 -05 -170

Kaepernick brings a dimension to the San Francisco offense with a trait that neither of Hall of Fame QBs Brady/Manning possess?an ability to move outside the pocket.

The second-year man out of Nevada will need to use that to his advantage and beat the Ravens
defense with his legs if the 49ers are to win it all.

The last time these teams met, back on Thanksgiving of 2011, it was a defensive-minded affair that ended with a 16-6 Ravens victory minus Kaepernick.

To be continued.......

'Probably the greatest advice that I've ever been given and the only advice that I've ever found to be true in all of coaching, I think we mentioned it to both John and Jim ... the coaching advice is, 'Get ahead, stay ahead,''' Jack Harbaugh said.

'We can't put into words what it means to see John and Jim achieve this incredible milestone,'' their brother-in-law, Indiana basketball coach Tom Crean, said.........

John already has the one-up, while Jim's team is the early favorite. John's Ravens beat the 49ers 16-6 on Thanksgiving night 2011, in Jim's rookie season as an NFL coach - though both know that means nothing now.

No doubt who wins........
