Things you may read in the coming weeks at deadspin and/or sports news outlets. The guy that shared this info at an SEC site is very reliable..

1. Petrino asked to get her a salary in the 70K range. When the univ balked, he brought her on at the 55K level...Supposedly, a booster covered the remaining 15k. That does not sound believable to me.

2. Ark will keep him.

I hope this story is a thing of the past by summer. I want the SEC at full strength when Bama begins their title defense in late August:0008

Fixed if for you. :nono:

Can the university retain him and keep a shred of integrity after he made them complicit in his lie, promoted a subordinate for sexual favors and had an affair with the fiance of a member of his staff?

He is a scumbag. I hope his wife divorces him and I hope he gets fired. This guy is pure and utter trash. Nice reflection on the school.

Hiring or promoting an employee he is boning, and breaking the law by lying to authorities are each terminatable offenses imo

He has a moralis clause or whatever it is called in his contract and he could get canned. However, given that Arky is pleased with the product on the field, I don't think it will even be close. Just like Ville and Pitino. He'll get a talking to from the AD of 'don't make us look bad again, but in the mean time go out and keep us near the top of the SEC'.

Okay, had a couple days to digest this whole situation. I can't see how Petrino keeps his job after thinking about everything a lot more. Cheating on his wife, he's safe and I don't think should be fired and probably most people agree. I mean who hasn't considered cheating on their wife at one time in their life who is married. If you haven't then God Bless YOU, you're a better man than most. Cheating on his wife with a girl he just hired unfairly or without any competition who is also engaged to an assistant coach and was supposed to be married in June, very fireable. Now, lying to the AD after the incident and with the basic facts stated above... I know it's Arkansas and you all know the Arkansas jokes about marrying your 1st cousin being legal and the state is a bunch of inbreds anyway. However, he lied to his boss and what kind of morals does this show his players? I mean, you lose every piece of dignity... I just don't think he should keep his job, despite an awesome record of something like 62-14 his past 7 collegiate seasons (going off memory so this might not be correct, but believe 41-9 at L'ville and 21-5 at Arkansas past 2 years, might have been at Arkansas longer than 2 years!)

Someone said Pitino did the same thing... Pitino maybe cheated on his wife, but not with the assistant coach's fiance who he just hired without competing. I realize what happened in the Joe Paterno incident (funny how everyone I'm mentioning would appear to be Italian, but don't want a bunch of the board pissed at me and just assuming since everyone's last name I'm mentioning ends with a vowel... Petrino sure doesn't look Italian). I also have MANY Italian friends although I'm Irish and German. Which I know you could tell a million Irish jokes especially when talking about drunks!

Anyway, back on subject as nationality has nothing to do with these incidents. I just don't see how Arkansas keeps this guy despite the fact their preseason about #6 or #7 in the country and have a dynamic offense returning with another okay defense. They have 2 guys who could be Heisman finalists in Wilson and Davis and I know they get LSU at home and Alabama! Arkansas could be a national title contender in all seriousness.

Respect the peeps from Arkansas wanting to keep a guy who has been winning a ton in the past decade collegiately at L'ville (thing 41-9 I believe) and Arkansas (21-5 past couple years for sure)... records going off memory and haven't been verified.

Anyway, I respect whatever decision Arkansas makes, but keep in mind Eustachy was canned for drinking and smoking cigs with MU students a number of years ago at Iowa State. Gillespie was canned for a DUI by Kentucky (however, they weren't happy with the shitty product on the court to be honest). Wasn't WAZZOU coach Price canned at Bama for visiting strip clubs or something close years ago? I mean look at the list of fireable offenses for coaches and Petrino's offenses make these look like child's play. Can't wait to hear the verdict. If he stays, all I can say is WOW! Arkansas really cares about winning more than moral integrity, that's for sure!

By the way, just looked officially and Petrino was 13-12 at Arkansas in 2008-2009 so the overall college record for this piece of trash is 75-26.

rumor going around that Petrino was caught in the sack by the boyfriend and he managed to get out and on to his bike.

Guy ran him off the road and then Jessica got out of the truck to help him and the boyfriend drove away.

Jessica was given the 20k by Petrino to buy a car.

And as for his wife. Petrino did the same thing with this same woman awhile ago.

This is his second time around the horn with Jessica :scared

how can a wife put up with that chit

just not much of a husband or father..

Old School, I'm pretty convinced that no great coach is a good father or husband. Not including the things that Petrino did just the fact that they have to devote so much time to their job. When I first went to college I went with the goal of going back and being my high schools basketball coach. After I graduated and started working I looked back and thought I had made a mistake getting a business degree and going that route but now that I have kids I've realized that the being with them and coaching their teams is exactly the coaching job I wanted.

Petrino left Louisville w/o talking to players. He left Atlanta without talking to players. He lied and placed his most recent employer at risk for a sexual harassment suit. He ran around with chicks despite having 4 kids at home. Yep, her fault:facepalm:
