Thinking of buying the Esperanza for my fiance as a wedding gift.

I like'm a lot and then we would have similar style watches, I've got a gold one...

bought my wife a Movado when we were in curacao. retails for $2200 and we picked it up there for $900. did a lot of checking around when we got back just to see if we really got a good deal and the best we have been able to find was $1350. :D

My wife bought me one a few years back. Loved it. But I ended up losing it, or it got stolen (have no idea which - damn!). I would buy another one (and highly recommend them), but I can't convince my self to pay that much for a watch.

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
I have Three Movado watches......and not one of them works. Bought them all on cruises, or trips to the caribean, and like Jack, did quite good on my purchases.
The problem I have, at least the most knowledgeable watchmaker/repair man around here has told me, is that Iam a Movado killer!!
Yes, thats right, my magnetism is to much for these thin watches, and apparently causes the batteries to burn up, and also screw up the timing mechanisms in them:eek: What the hell!!!
After dealing with all this, I just dont wear them anymore.....If anyone has a reputable place that can fix this for me, I would be much obliged:D
Not saying you should not buy one, just thought you should know about this;)

lots of fakes and reconditioned watches out there. We used to get the reconditioned ones at a local outlet type store and sell them on ebay for some good coin. Never had any customer complaints. They'll have an "R" etched on the back most of the time. Nothing I would ever want, but nice, good looking watches. Wish we still had that store, it was a gold mine.
