The FBS college record for rushing yards is held by Ladanian Tomlinson of TCU, rushing for 406 yards on 11/20/1999 versus UTEP.
The final score of that game was 52-24, TCU winning.
It appears that TCU didn't need all of those rushing yards to win the game. They likely were "running up the score" to get Tomlinson the record.
There is no difference - to set LT's record, or Taylor's record, one needs to have a great game and a coach willing to let them play enough, and give them enough opportunities, to set the record.
LT had 43 rushes in that game for TCU. They likely had the game well in hand when we had 20 rushes.
Sorry, Saint, there isn't any difference here. To set records requires these type of efforts.
Not sure why this Jack Taylor is being singled out - we should hold every record holder accountable for being a jerk - because they were good enough to do so.
Sorry you feel so strongly about this - but it just doesn't feel any different than LT in this case.
Give the kid a break - what an effort!
Do you realize all you do around here is argue with people?
Just an observation.
